The party is in full swing, though Uma says we're early, Ava's on her phone texting someone- maybe her boyfriend? Whoever it is, they're pissing her off.
She huffs before looking up and seeing me stare, she smiles, "Guys. They suck." And with that she waltzs off, leaving Uma and I in the middle of the field that the party is being held.
"Where should we go?" I ask Uma.
"Where the drinks are." She winks before leading me into the small gazebo where the drinks are being kept.
It's gonna be a long night."I love what you're wearing." The girl says with a smile. She's in one of my lessons we figured out a while ago, and we've been talking ever since- I don't even remember the lesson anymore. I smile at her, looking for a way out of this as she gulps down her fifth beer since she's trapped me. I swear if she dates to throw up on me...
"Thank you..." Oh God what's her name? Marie? Maria? Honestly it could be bloody Gertrude for all I flipping know!
"Mila." She provides, saving me. "And you're Lucy!"
"Yes, 'I-E'." I say absentmindedly.
"That's cute." She laughs hysterically. "Lucie Cutie."
I laugh awkwardly with her, holding onto my can of cherry coke.
"So why you here?" A different voice asks from behind Mila.
"Um excuse me?" I look to see a guy,in a white t-shirt and black jeans. His light brown hair hair is shaved at the sides but curly on the top and goes into his eyes slightly, deep melted chocolate eyes, his skin a coffee colour, it's so clear and healthy looking it almost gives off a glow and he has rounded cheekbones that just add to the essence of, well, him- I'm not going to lie, he's very attractive. Doesn't mean I like him though.
"Why are you here?" He asks, walking around so he's next to Mila and me.
"It's a party for newbies. I'm new. Go figure."
"Me too!" Mila happily chirps.
"No Mila, you've been here a year now. Where's Eden? Go find her." And just like that, she's dismissed. Um- who does he think he is?
"You know what I mean." He gets closer to me and something in me shivers at his closeness...I don't understand.
"Fuck off." I smile sweetly before going to walk past him, he grabs my arm tightly, he's too strong for me to break out of his grip. "Go away."
"At least give me an idea?" He sneers. "Fucked the wrong guy? School shooting? Drugs? Alcohol? What. Did. You. Do?"
"I made a guy infertile." I hiss before throwing the entire content of the can in the dick's face. He lets me go on a yell and I storm off in search of Uma or Ava. Shaken by the feeling of the Monster in my body coiling up, and waiting to strike. After running into a few more people, I'm done looking for the others, I just want to go back to my room and sleep, all the travelling catching up to me.
Suddenly there's a lot of chaos going on.
"CURFEW POLICE! RUN! RUN! RUN! HIIIDDDEEE!" I hear being yelled and that's enough for me, I start sprinting towards the apartment houses. Shit, where am I? Why's it so damn dark?
Oh my God, did I just hear dogs? What the-
"You! Girl! Stop!" I hear behind me so I run faster. I hear footsteps behind me.
Please not today.
There's a place with the light on- if I can just get there it'll be fine.
The footsteps fade, hopefully I've lost them, I staff to jog and I duck behind a bush close to the apartment.
Now if I can just get into there and wait it out- they won't mind surely?
