Chapter 21: Breakfast

BROOKE'S POV

*One Hour Later*

I was sitting in the waiting room, driving myself crazy. I know it had only been an hour and the surgery is going to take a couple of hours, but I just wanted to see Peter, awake and alive again. I am truly in love with him and I can't imagine life without him.

"Brooke?" I looked up to see Ariel standing in front of me with a small smile. "Come get breakfast with me." She said and I nodded, standing up. We walked to the hospital cafeteria, grabbing a few things and Ariel paying for it. We found an empty table and sat down, beginning to eat in silence.

"So, you and Peter, huh?"

"Yeah." I said, blushing a bit.

"When did you guys get together?"

"Valentines day. He asked me to the dance and asked me out there." I shrugged.

"Aww, that's adorable."

"Yeah."

"Do you like him? Like, really like him." She said with a wink.

"I know I'm only a freshman and we've only been dating for like four months, but I think I truly love him."

"He loves you too. Whenever he's on the phone with me, it's Brooke this and Brooke that, he's always talking about you. He is head over heels for you...just don't tell him I said that, he would kill me." She laughed.

"Are you nervous?" I asked quietly.

"Nervous?"

"You know, about Peter."

"Brooklynne, he's going to be just fine. Just watch, he'll be out in a couple hours and be the same Peter you always knew. My dad and I went through the same exact surgery, he's going to be perfectly fine."

"I hope so." I said quietly, finishing up my food. I could barley eat I was so nervous. Talking to Ariel did make me feel a little better though.

"Brooke, I don't want to scare you by saying this, but I'd love to have you as a sister in law one day."

"I'd love that as well." I said, a smile spreading across my face. I think I really do want to spend the rest of my life with Peter, I think this is true love. We finished up our food and walked back to the waiting room, allowing me to curl back up in my corner. I just want to see Peter.
