Destined | ɴᴀɴᴀᴛꜱᴜ ɴᴏ ᴛᴀɪᴢᴀɪ

Third Grade

Third grade, another year in Pines Elementary. A new classroom that Elizabeth entered, 3-A. 

She entered the room and saw that there were a few students inside. A certain blond saw her and glared at her. "Not you again!" 

Elizabeth just looked down, quickly walking to the last seat at the back of the class. Elizabeth could feel the annoyance that Meliodas was giving out at her.

"Seems you're destined to be in the same class as her again~" Elizabeth heard Ban tease, making her glance up at them. King and Diane were laughing at the sides. 

Meliodas glared at Ban, "Destined? No way. Not with her." Ban however wasn't affected by his glare and just laughed, "Whatever you say, Cap'n~" 

"We're too different for that destined stuff." Meliodas rolled his eyes and grumpily sat on his chair. 

Ban chuckled, "Then let it go already~" Meliodas glared at Ban again, "I did. You know how I hate her." Not even caring if Elizabeth could hear. 

Ban just rolled his eyes and sat on his chair, Diane and King did the same. Everyone was quiet after that, they just waited for the the bell to ring. 

Once it did, a lady with Blonde hair and grey eyes entered the room with a smile. Like all the other teachers, she introduced herself. "I'm Miss May! Good morning everyone!" 

Everyone greeted her with a good morning. Then, introductions were next. As usual, Elizabeth was the last one to speak. Meliodas also cut her off while she was saying her name. 

"Why do you keep being slow? Make it quick!" Meliodas yelled, making Elizabeth flinch. It was the first time Meliodas yelled at her in class.  

Miss May's head whipped to Meliodas, "Meliodas dear, mind your manners please." 

Meliodas turned his head, avoiding Miss May's gaze and just glared at Elizabeth as she finished her sentence. 

Elizabeth knew that Meliodas was annoyed with everything about her. Her presence was enough to make him tick.

One time, Elizabeth just passed Meliodas just to go throw a piece of paper. Meliodas saw this, "How about throwing yourself in there, too." 

Elizabeth just stayed quiet and went back to her seat. Silent as ever, she just looked at her table. Elizabeth knew that Meliodas hated her, for being as smart as him and because she was always in the same class as him. 

As Ban would say, Destined. 

But Elizabeth also didn't like what Ban had called them. They weren't destined at all. 

As the year went on, Elizabeth had went through a lot. Meliodas continued on calling her mean names and pranks. 

But there was a day, a week before school ended, where Elizabeth's bag went missing again. Elizabeth looked for her bag alone as usual, but when she went to the garbage bins at the back of the school, it wasn't there. 

Elizabeth looked around the school, the sun almost setting. She still couldn't find her bag. The last place she hadn't looked was at the indoor pool. 

She entered the building. Seeing her pink bag on the side of the pool, her bag was open. She went towards it and saw that it was empty. 

She looked at the pool, her papers and textbooks were there, floating around. Elizabeth stood up and jumped in the pool. She was a good swimmer, thanks to her parents making her get lessons at summer. 

While Elizabeth was in the water collecting her papers and books, she heard laughing. It echoed around the building. 

Elizabeth turned her head where she suddenly heard footsteps. Meliodas, King and Ban were there, laughing. 

"You look so stupid!" Meliodas laughed, making Elizabeth look at him in surprise. "You look so wet and soggy~ gross~" Ban started to fake vomit. "Unpleasant." King gave her a disgusted look. 

Elizabeth just stared at the three, she couldn't speak. At this point, this was the last straw. She began to get the last bits of papers that were left and left the pool. 

Dripping wet, she took her bag. The three boys stared at her as she left the building, stopping to have one last glance at the three boys. Turning away and leaving, making the three boys stare at the space where Elizabeth was once at. 

"That wasn't water from the pool, those were tears." Ban pointed out, breaking the silence. 

King nodded, "We finally broke her, captain." King and Ban turned to Meliodas who was just silent. He shrugged it off, "She'll be back tomorrow."

The next day, Elizabeth was absent. 

"Elizabeth Liones is sick today." Miss May announced once she entered the classroom. Meliodas looked at Elizabeth's chair and rolled his eyes. "weak."

"What did you guys do?" Diane asked them in a whispered voice, Meliodas looked at her and shrugged. "Just water. "

Diane didn't believe him, so she just paid attention to what Miss May was saying in front.

After a few days, Elizabeth was back. Meliodas glared at her the whole day, he didn't call her anything or played a prank on her. He was getting bored of it, but he just gave her a bad look all day. 

Elizabeth could feel the annoyance and the glare from all the way to her seat. Elizabeth was still sad about missing two days because of having a fever from the pool incident. 

After that, Meliodas just... stopped. He would give her a glare now and then, also teasing her sometimes. 

Elizabeth felt uncomfortable, she would usually be teased or made fun of once she took a step inside the classroom. But now, Meliodas would only give her a glare. 

Elizabeth was happy, of course. Everything stopped, Elizabeth wondered why he stopped, but it passed when he kept giving her an annoyed look.

On the last day, everyone was happy that summer was back and there was no classes. everyone would be able to play games all day and not enter the classroom to learn. 

Elizabeth bumped into Meliodas while she was leaving the classroom. "Hey!" Meliodas exclaimed, making Elizabeth flinch in surprise. 

"Watch where you're going!" Meliodas flicked her forehead, making her hair cover her face. Elizabeth was hurt by the flick. 

She quickly left school, leaving Meliodas glaring at her. Little did Meliodas know, that was the last time he was going to see her.
