'Hey!' Exclaimed Chelsea, when I sat back down at the Erudite table. 'How come your test took so much longer than mine?'
'What? How much longer did it take?'
'Only five minutes, but I came out at the same time as the others did - well, except one of the Dauntless and one of the Candor, but they literally came out a minute later.'
'I don't know,' I said.
'Oh, well,' said Chelsea. 'Well, shall we go home, then? You can come back to mine for dinner, it's fine by my parents.'
'Okay,' I said, and we left the school and waited for the bus.

'Anyway, were both of our tests the same?' Chelsea asked as we stepped onto the bus, which had arrived seconds after we had.
'I wouldn't know, would I?' I said. 'We aren't supposed to talk about our results.'
'I know that, but come on. We've been best friends for fifteen years. We can trust each other!' She said persuasively.
'There's probably a reason that we can't tell anybody what happened in the aptitude test, you know,' I said, thinking back to what Eve had said to me. Who would want to kill me, because of an inconclusive test result?
'Who's going to know?'
'Maybe you do belong in Candor,' I said, smiling.
'Why?'
'Because you couldn't keep a secret if your life depended on it.'
Chelsea smiled, and laughed a little.
'Anyway,' I said. There were three people sitting at the end of the bus, but that was all. I nodded towards them, and said; 'What if they hear our conversation?'
'Well, we're getting off in two stops, so who cares?'
I rolled my eyes. Typical Chelsea - that was her way of saying, 'fine, tell me later.'
When we got to Chelsea's house, we went up into her bedroom. 'At least tell me what happened in yours,' she probed.
'The dog and the girl and stuff.'
'Oh, so they were the same!' Said Chelsea.
'I guess,'
'So, did you choose the cheese or the knife?' She asked.
'I don't think we should be talking about this...'
'Either tell me what you chose, or tell me your result,' she said. 'Either way, tell me your result! Go on, I'll tell you mine!'
'Tell me yours then,' I said.
'Well, I got Erudite, didn't I?' She said.
'Of course you did,' I said, rolling my eyes. 'Isn't it obvious, though?'
'What did you get? Go on, I told you mine!'
'We really aren't supposed to be talking about this,' I said.
'So?'
I sighed. 'Erudite,' I finally said.
I wasn't lying.
