Once we were back outside, I could see a train approaching us already. Marcus and Caleb jumped into the carriage, hauled Peter up with help from myself and Nathan, carefully avoiding his injured arm, and then we jumped in, too.
'I shouldn't have left Tris,' Caleb muttered, biting his lip.
'Caleb, she's very brave, and smart, too.' Said Nathan.
'What would you know?' He muttered.
'We know about Divergents.' I told him.
'Well, I don't see how somebody could be that selfless, and that brave, and that smart. It's illogical, divergence.'
'Her divergence is strong,' I said. 'Most Divergents have aptitude for two factions, and from what you've said, I gather she has aptitude for three. That's rare, Caleb. She's strong. The serums don't effect you.'
'Are you Divergent?' He asked me after a moment.
'Yeah,' I said, 'and Nathan is too.'
'What factions?'
'Amity and Candor,' said Nathan.
'And you?' Caleb prompted me.
'Amity, Abnegation, Erudite and Dauntless.'
'But... That's never happened before.' Caleb seemed fascinated.
'It happened to me,' was all I could say.
'Why did you choose Candor?' He asked - of course, he had to.
'I didn't mean to,' was all I could be bothered to say.
Without warning, Peter launched himself out of the carriage.
I tried to pull him back in, but it was too late - and I could see where he was going.
We were just passing Erudite headquarters.
'Traitor,' Caleb hissed.
But Peter was lost in the distance now.
