Chapter 4: the ones who race together,stick together

Ally's P.O.V

By the time I was done putting on my shoes I heard a knock on the door. I ran and got it and it was Ryan. "Hey Ry. Dad I'll be back later Ryan's here bye." I yell the last part though out the RV as me and Ryan walk out the door. "So you ready to meet the guys? He asked. "Yeah. I hope they like me." I say with uncertainty. "There gonna love you. Don't worry Al" Ryan assured me. He reached for my hand and held it as we walked towards his truck  as soon as he did I felt a rush of something come over me. It felt amazing I loved it.

The car ride was mostly silent except for the heavy metal music playing. I'm not really a fan of it I'm more of a country girl but I'd do anything for Ryan right now.

We arrived at the beach in about 30 minutes from the speedway and when we got there we started walking with our hands in each other's. We began to approach a fire with 3 guys around it involved in conversation but when they spotted me and Ryan they all looked at us with confused. "Did blaney finally get a girl?" One with blank hair asked. "Damn Ry since when did u start to date my teammate." Chase said. I only know him since he helped me with racing and adjusting to NASCAR. Chases comment made blush and apparently it was noticeable cause the other guy made a comment. "Awe. Look at her face. Ry" "shut it bubba she's my best friend that's it. For now" Ryan spoke but whispered the last part to himself not thinking that I heard. We went to go sit down but I guess they forgot I was coming so there was only one chair left. "You can sit on my lap if I want but if your not comfortable with it I can stand or sit in the sand" Ryan whispered. "I'll sit on your lap I don't want u to have to sit on the ground or stand the whole time." I whispered back. With that Ryan sat then I sat on him. "So guys this is Allison sanders. Ally this is bubba,Erik and you already know chase I assume." Ryan says pointing to the guys. "Hey. Y'all can call me ally." I said. "Ally are u by chance related to Martin sanders? The dirt track champion of 1976?"Bubba asked. "Yes he's my grandfather. I used to race dirt and I was supposed to follow on his footsteps until I got a call from NASCAR asking if I would like a spot in Hendricks motor sports and it was my dream so I accepted." I say. "Why didn't I know this. I've know u since I were 5?" Ryan asked. "Ry I've told u like 20 times" I laughed. "Yeah blaney never been the brightest one in the bunch" Erik spoke laughing. "Screw you Erik" Ryan comments. "Awe is someone a grumpy pants" i say paying Ryan's cheek and kissing his cheek. He smirked after I kissed his cheek it looked like just a friendly gesture to chase,bubba and Erik but me and Ryan knew it was more. We continued talking for a bit until I saw bubba whisper to chase something and then chase spoke. "Hey y'all wanna play truth or dare" we all agreed and we all agreed that Ryan got to start. "Okay Erik truth or dare?" "Truth" Erik chose
"Okay, is it true that when you were 12 you faked the flu to get out of school but still got to race that night?" Ryan asked. "Hell yes. I hated school but I loved racing. But let's just say I tried that excuse again on my mom and I didn't race that week or the next.." Erik confused. We all began to laugh constantly at Erik and the rest of the truths and dares when eventually it got asked by no other than Bubba. "Truth or dare ally" "um....dare" I spoke. Just as I said dare Erik leaned over to Bubba and whispered something to him. "Okay Ally I dare u to kiss anyone in this circle" Bubba spoke. Thanks Erik🙄. I knew exactly who I wanted to kiss but I don't know how's he gonna react. "Really....Erik I swear I'm kick your ass" I say. "Sorry just trynna help" Erik says with a smirk. I knew I had to do this. Ryan could tell I was nervous so he held my hand and made me look him in the eye. "Hey look at me..it's okay. it don't have to mean anything if u don't want it too. But I'd sleep better tonight knowing that u kissed me and it didn't mean anything than if u go kiss Chase, Erik or Bubba and it does mean something." Ryan spoke reassuringly in a whisper. So then I kissed my best friend. When we kissed it felt like sparks went off and that it felt right. It was a sweet and passionate kiss. When we pulled away I spoke to Ryan "I know u said it didn't have to mean anything but I felt something and I don't wanna ignore that. Ry I've had a crush on you since before you left centerville." I say cupping his face. A soon as I said this a smile appeared on Ryan's face and he leaned in for another kiss. "Okay lovebirds we get it." Chase commented. I pulled away from Ryan and said "hey buddy you and your friends over there are the ones who did this with y'alls dares" I say and everyone begins to laugh. "Well it's getting late I think I'm gonna head out cause I have a race tomorrow" Bubba says. " I'm join too I'm pretty tired and my sister is coming to the track tomorrow" Erik says standing up. "See you later. Nice meeting y'all" I say as Bubba and Erik walk towards there trucks. "I'll see you to lovebirds later. I'm heading back" chase said. "Bye chase" me and Ryan say in unison. "Can we just lay down on the blanket and look stars?" I ask Ryan. "Of course beautiful" he says. I stand up and go to lay down on the blanket and Ryan joins and puts his arm around me and I cuddle into his side. "I don't know what this is between us right now but I like it" I say smiling. "Me too" Ryan says.He kissed my head and then I fall asleep after that with Ryan's arms around me.
