Chapter 19: Family pride and final rides

Ally's P.O.V

Ryan and I walked into my dad's Motorhome and saw all of my family talking about Ryan's and i relationship. Well only Caleb and Amanda. The rest were talking about how I did last weekend. "Don't blame me what I'm about to say. It's gonna sound real bitchy but oh well." I whisper to Ryan. "Hey grandpa and grandma it's so nice to see you and Beth and Sierra y'all have never looked better." I say going to hug those four. "Hello Allison." Aunt Amanda says coldly. "Hi aunt Amanda. Still talking about people I see." I say with a smug grin. I hear Ryan chuckle behind me but he was only loud enough that I was the only who heard. "Everyone this is Ryan Blaney. My boyfriend." I say. As soon as I speak o search the room for peoples faces as if I could read them. "It's so nice to finally meet you Ryan. I've heard so much about you from ally over the phone. You seem like such a nice young man who is taking care of our little ally-bear." My grandma says. Ryan walks over to shake her hand and my grandma pulls Ryan into a hug. She must really like him. I'm glad. "Thank you for protecting our baby girl she is all we have left of her momma. We know Casey here does a great job but it's nice to know that someone can keep her safe where he isn't." My grandpa says to Ryan. I know he is talking about Ryan not only watching out for me off the track but also on the track. He has helped me so much out there. "Well even he can't keep her safe from that stupid race car cause he's also one off those idiots in one every weekend." I hear Caleb says. I try and stay calm and bite my tongue and ball my hands to fists. "Caleb. If you don't have something nice to say then don't even speak. No one wants to hear your bitchy squirrel voice anyway." I say with  attitude. "Don't you mean pitchy?" Beth asks trying not to laugh. "Nope. I know what I said." I laugh and so does Beth, Ryan, my dad and Sierra. "That's not how a lady is supposed to act. Look what he's done to her Casey. He's a terrible influence to ally." Amanda says and I feel Ryan tense up behind me. I turn around to try and stop him from doing something he will regret. "Ryan she's not worth it. Don't do waste your time on that piece of shit. I love you baby." I whisper in his ear. "I love you too. She says anything more about you though god forbid what you will have to hold me back from." Ryan whispers to me. "Beth how are you and Jason?" I ask. "I'd say we are doing pretty good." Beth says holding her left hand up. "No way!!!!" Me and Sierra freak. "Why didn't you tell me?" I said. "Cause it's very recent and I wanted to ask you this in person. Will you and Sierra be a bridesmaids?" She asks. "Yes!!!" Me and Sierra shout at the same time. " I'm so happy for you." My dad shouts. "Me too. I will gladly except him into the family since he's a accountant and his profession won't kill him or my niece." Amanda says clearly taking a shot at me and Ryan. My hands go into fists again. "Maybe some day down the road I can be a proud grandma." Amanda continues. Everyone in the room goes silent.

"So anybody want anything to drink? Ally a beer?" My dad asks. "No thanks dad I'll just take a water for now I have practice here in a bout an hour and a half." I respond. "Anyone else?" I ask. "What do you have?" Grandma asks. "Um....water, beer, wine, Pepsi, mtn. Dew and milk." I say. "I'll take a water please." Grandma says. "I'll take a Pepsi." Says Caleb. I roll my eyes when I'm not facing them. "Water for me and grandpa please." Says Amanda. "What kind of beer you got Al?" Asks Beth. "Um Budweiser and Coors light?" I ask. "I'll take a Budweiser." Beth says. "Make that two." Says Sierra. I get everyone there drinks  when I grab them I noticed I had cut my hands with my nails because my hands were in such tight fists. "Ryan?" I ask. "Just a water please babe." He says. I grab his water and give it to him and go sit next to Sierra and Ryan joins me. "What about me?" My dad says laughing. "You live here you know what you like?" I say laughing. "Well so do you and Ryan practically" my dad jokes. "Well maybe Ryan doesn't aggravate me like you do?" I joke with my dad. "I don't believe that but okay." He says laughing and getting up to get him and Coors light. "Shoot dad. I didn't look at the time. I have to go." I say getting up. "Why? Our practice isn't for another hour and 15 minuets." Ryan asks. "Well I have to look at the last race to see what I can improve on." I say. I know it sounds stupid but it's a tradition I have. "Please stay a little longer. I wanna catch up." Says Sierra. "Okay I guess." I say sitting back down.

"So grandpa and me missed your race on TV last week because Amanda insisted on having us over for dinner and wouldn't change the station so we could watch. How did you do?" My grandpa asks. They have always been my biggest supporters next to my dad, mom and Ryan. "Well I didn't do so good. I hit the wall early thanks to happy Harvick and that kinda destroyed my whole run. I ended up in 24th  because I kept having to come in and work on the car." I say a little bummed. That was probably the worst race I've had in a while that I actually finished. "See your not even good at the sport anyways. Why don't you drop this whole tomboy racing act and come home and go to college and be a normal kid. I even have a friend who has a son who you could date. He is very sweet and is very respectful to everyone. Maybe your dad could also find a nice restaurant job too instead of his silly little fantasy of being crew chief." Amanda says. Ryan grabs my hand in efforts to stop me but it doesn't work. "Babe.." Ryan tries to calm me down. "No. I can't Ryan she didn't just mess with me but also you and my dad, the two people I love the most." I say getting up and yanking my hand away from Ryan's. "What will make you finally shut the hell up? Me quitting NASCAR? Would that make you happy You self centered little bitch? You think that everyone is doing something wrong with there life unless they spend it just like you. Racing is what makes me happy. Ryan makes me happy. Being a part of a big team in NASCAR makes my dad happy. Everything I am doing here is making me happy and it's not hurting anyone. So what is your deal?" I yell at Amanda. I finally lost it. I'm honestly kinda embarrassed because Ryan has never seen this side of me before. "My deal is that ever since your mom has been go-." I cut her off. "Don't you even dare bring my mom into this. She would be so proud of me living my childhood dream and making so many people happy. I am an inspiration to young girls-." Then she had the nerve to cut me off. "Yeah. An inspiration to get young girls killed and rebel. I never liked the way you were raised. You were never a girl. You always acted like a guy. You aren't normal. Your a discrase to the family name. And he's not helping that. He's only making it worse." She yells pointing at Ryan at the end. "Stay the fuck  away from me, my lifestyle, my family and I'm not talking about you and Caleb. I'm talking about the NASCAR community the ones who were here for my birthday. The ones who actually acknowledged it. Stay away from grandpa and grandma and Beth and Sierra and most importantly stay away from my dad and Ryan." I yell and stomp out the door with Ryan close behind me.

Once we get back mine and Ryan's motor home I lose it. As soon as me and Ryan get in I begin to cry as Ryan engulfed me into one of his famous hugs. "Shhhhh. Shhhhhh. It's okay baby. She doesn't know what she's talking a about. Don't let her get in your head. She doesn't love and she doesn't matter. I'm here so is your dad, Sierra, Beth and your grandparents and the entire NASCAR community is behind you. We all love you. And I love you probably the most next to your dad." Ryan says into my ear as he holds me so close. " I love you so much baby girl. You are my absolute everything Allison Marie Sanders" Ryan says kissing my head and playing with my hair. "I can't believe I acted like that. You should have never seen that side of me. I'm so embarrassed. " I say crying. "Baby. It's okay. I'm so proud of you for standing up for what you believe in and the people you love and care for. Baby you did the right thing. I love you." Ryan says into my hair. He really knows how to clam me down and keep me from spinning out of control with my anxiety.

After a couple more seconds I hear the door open and people come in. I look up a little from Ryan but still in his grip and I see Beth, Sierra, grandma and grandpa, my dad and mark too. "I heard. I'm so sorry ally. We all love you and want you to stay." Mark says and they all run and join mine and Ryan's hug.

"Hey babe. I hate to break up this awesome group hug but we have practice in 30 minuets." Ryan says. "Okay. We have to get ready you all can stay here or go wherever you want but thank you so much guys. You all helped me so much. I love you guys." I say going to the back room to get my fire suit and Ryan follows behind me. " Ry. I don't think you realize how important you are to me. I would be lost if I didn't have you. I love you so much Ryan Micheal Blaney. I have something for you." I say hugging him the going into the closet and grabbing something from the corner. Ryan opens the box that I give and he smiles so big. Ryan loves string bracelets. I got him one that says 'I love you Ryan.' Stitched on the bracelet. "Thank you baby. I love it. Help me put it on?" Ryan asks. "Gladly." I say and tie it on his wrist. I get changed while Ryan went into the bathroom and changed. I went out to the living room portion of the trailer and waited for Ryan. "Ready?" Ryan asks. "Yeah." I say. "Nice bracelet Ryan. I'm assuming it came from ally." Sierra said. "Yeah. Just a little gift." I say smiling. I give Ryan a kiss and we walk out the door for practice along with my friends and family to watch us.
