Chapter 16: it's Bristol Baby

Ally's P.O.V

This week we are at Bristol. I was so nervous. Earlier this year when we raced here I lost control of my car, spun and hit the outside wall really hard. My car was totaled. I wasn't physically hurt but my self confidence racing in a cup car took a pretty good hit. Today is first practice and I'm really scared. Normally I would just shake off a wreck and attack the track 100 times harder next time I race there but this time was different. I was actually scared to run on Bristol again.

"There's my girl. You ready to take in Bristol?" My dad said as I walked into the garage. "Yea......" I trailed off. "Hey what's wrong? You okay ally?" Mark and dad asked. "I know that when I wreck I normally bounce back 100 times faster and better and give the track and everyone out on it a run for there money but this time I'm terrified to go out there and run." I say in defeat after trying to avoid this conversation. " it's okay to be scared babe." Someone says behind me. I jump and scream. "RYAN!!!! What the hell?" I yell when I turn around to face him. "Sorry. But I heard what you were saying. It's okay babe. When I hit at Kentucky I was afraid to run there again and I had the same feeling like you do right now. You think you can't do it but once you get out there you will run faster than ever." My dad agreed with Ryan and so did Mark. Practice was about 12 minuets in when I decided to hope in my car and get ready for my run.

Ryan's P.O.V

"You ready to run a couple laps?" My crew chief Jeremy asked. "Where does Ally stand?" I asked. "She just pulled out into pit road. Mark says that she's gonna go for a run when she's ready." Jeremy said. " I'm not gonna take a lap till she is ready." "Ryan you can't wait for her" Jeremy practically yelled through the radio. "Connect my radio to her for 5 minuets and before those 5 are up I can promise you i will be on that track." I say with force in my voice. "Fine. 5 minuets then u make laps now talk Blaney your connected." He said. "Allison?" "Ryan?" She responds with that sweet sound in her voice. "Are you ready?" I asked. "Maybe." I could sense the fear in her voice. "Hey Allison. Listen to me you got this. No one is out there right now. If your ready I will go run with you. Only me and you on the track. I'm not taking your car out and I'm not gonna rush you but I'll be there with you. Are you ready to take in Bristol with me baby?" I asked "yes. Let's do this. I'm going mark." I hear her say as I see her car roll out of her stall, 3 down from me. I pullout behind Ally. She pulled out onto the track being a little cautious. I could tell because she wasn't going her normal pace. "You got this baby." I mumbled to myself. It was almost as if she heard me because her car began to increase in speed and by the time she crossed the start finish line she had to at least to be doing 80 because I was doing 75 and she had left me in her rear view mirror.

I took 7 laps because my at had felt pretty good except in turn 3 and 4 my car would get very lose. When I had pulled in practice only had 2 minuets left. I knew I wasn't getting any more laps in and the guys told me they were gonna adjust my car for qualifying later. I decided to find ally and she how she was doing. I walked around for a good 15 minuets before I found her talking to Chase, Kaylie and Amanda. "Hey beautiful. Good practice session." I speak when I hug her from behind and let my hands rest on her stomach. "Thank you baby." She spoke.

After we finished talking with the group it was time for qualifying. Erik got his first career pole tonight with ally starting second and me starting 7th.

Ally's P.O.V

I was sitting there talking to Ryan after qualifying about how much his pep talk helped me in practice and if it wasn't from him I'd probably not have even qualified. "Thank you so much baby." I say kissing him. In the middle of our what turned into a make out session both of ours phones pinged. "Ugh.....What's that?" He groaned. I giggled at his response and checked my phone. It was our group:

Kaylie🌺: cook-out with outdoor movie to celebrate Erik's pole?Meet at the open field just outside the track at 7pm!

Ryan😍:definitely

Ally🐳: I'll be there

Amanda💎: heck yeah!

Bubba🤘🏽: anything for ye old jones!!!!

Chase👌🏻: dale yeah I'll be there!!!

Tonight we were gonna celebrate one of my best friends biggest accomplishment. I was so excited. It was already 5:45. I decided to take a shower now so Ryan has time to get one before the cook out too.

Once I got out of the shower I tuned on iHeartRadio and jammed out to my Thomas Rhett station. I decided to put on something comfortable. I threw on a grey shirt with a pair of black leggings with some grey Nike's. I didn't put on any makeup because honestly I didn't feel like it. I hope Ryan didn't mind though. I walk out of the bathroom and look at Ryan and I see a smile creep upon his face. "What?" I ask chuckling. "Your not wearing any make up." He says. " is it that bad?" I say starting to feel insecure. "No baby. You look so much more beautiful without make up. I love you for you. All of you regardless if your wearing makeup or no makeup or rather your wearing a dress or a fire suit or if your wearing heals or sneaker." He says kissing me. He leans down and kisses me all over after we share a sweet kiss. "What are you doing Ry?" I ask. " I'm kissing every part of you to show you that I love everything about you. Your perfections, your flaws and even you crazy little things you don't think I notice but there the things I love the most." He says as he finishes his kisses. "Ryan Micheal Blaney I love you so much." I say wrapping my arms around him. "Allison Marie Sanders I love you more than you'll ever think is possible." He says and kisses my temple.
