Chapter 25: Homstead Miami pt.1

Ryan's P.O.V

Well it's finally that time. The one we all don't want to happen. Time for the last race of the year. I am no longer in the playoffs and I'm okay with it. I'm still learning. Ally made it to the round of 8 and I was so proud of her. Now it's time for Miami.

"Good morning." I smiled and rolled over to face Ally. "Good morning" she says back smiling. I lay there and look at her and still wonder after 10 months how I got so lucky. "When do we have practice today?" She asks still tired. These last couple weeks all we have done is racing. "Not till 5ish I think." I say wrapping my arms around her. "Yay. I can sleep." She says rolling back over. "I was going to offer to take you to breakfast at this little diner I found right outside of the track?" I say a little disappointed. It's been forever since we have had any sort of date. "Oh. I'm sorry babe. Let's go I'm really hungry. Give me 20 minutes to get ready and we can go." She says jumping out of bed. "Babe. We didn't have to go right now. You could sleep for a while. It's 8am." I say suddenly getting cold. "No. We haven't been out of this RV or track on any sorta date in 3 months. We are going." She says shutting the door to the bathroom and hoping in the shower.

After around 30 we are ready to go. When we walk out of the RV we run into Amanda and Bubba. "Hey guys. What are you two doing up so early?" Amanda asks. "We gotta go get a couple things from the store. Turns out Blakey over here really likes his bacon" Ally says confusing me and making me laugh. "Don't feel bad, this one is the same way. You always have to keep the food stocked. Well I let y'all go so you get back and relax" She laughs and points to bubba. Ally gives her a hug and I high five Darrel as we leave on the way to my truck.

"Why'd you lie to Amanda and Bubba back there?" I asked as we hopped in and began to drive to the diner. "I felt bad but I wanted some alone time. It's been forever since we've been on a date by ourselves. I love our friends and there all amazing but I want some time just with you outside of the RV for a bit." She says lacing our hands together. "I'm so glad you lied to them. You have no idea how badly I've wanted to just have some time to ourselves away from the track and everyone. The only time we've really had these past 6 weeks together is when we go to sleep or wake up and when we do get to hangout we're always with Bubba and Amanda, Chase and Taylor or Erik and Kaylie. I've missed just Ryan and Allison time like a lot!" I say. I never realized that since everyone has been so busy with the playoffs we haven't got much time together at all. "I love you Ry." She tells me squeezing my hand. "I love you most Ally," I say giving her a reassuring squeeze and a smile as we pull up to the diner.

I ended up ordering 2 chocolate chip waffles with bacon and orange juice and Ally got biscuits and gravy with fruit on the side and a coffee. "How's your waffles Ry?" Ally asked. "They are really good. How's your biscuits and gravy?" I responded. "Some of the best over ever had." She speaks. Man it feels great to just have breakfast together and each something other than cereal and not in a rush.

We eventually made it back to the track and Ally decided she was gonna go hang out with Kaylie and Amanda since it had been a while since the girls had hung out. I'm really glad that she decided to there had been something I've been needing to do but I need Ally away from me when I do it.

Ally's P.O.V

This morning has been amazing. Ryan and I really needed that time to ourselves with the playoffs and the end of the season coming down. I missed sitting down having a genuine conversation with him and it felt great to finally have one together this morning. I love him so much.

When we got back to the track I told Ryan I was gonna go catch up with Amanda and Kay for a bit since it had been a while and also I felt bad about lying to Amanda this morning but it was worth it.

I walked up to Kaylie and Erik's RV and knocked on the door. "Come in." Said Kay. I walked in and ran up and hugged both of the girls. Its really been a while. "Oh my gosh. It feels like forever since we have all been together." Said Amanda. "I know. Ally over here had been to busy to say hey or talk to us the past couple weeks." Kay spoke. "Hey you know I've tried. Everything has been so chaotic with the playoffs. I've hardly got to even see Ryan during these times." I say with genuine feeling. I know the girls have missed me and I've missed them too. "Hey. You know we're just messing with you. We love you and we're so happy that you have done amazing things this season." Kaylie says. "Hey Amanda ya know how you saw me and Ry this morning?" I ask. "Yeah. Did y'all get more bacon for the hungry boy?" She asks. "Well yes. We sorta went out to breakfast at a diner. I only told you that we were going to get him more bacon because we needed some alone time." I say defeated. "Hey girly. Don't worry. I would have done the same thing if me and Bubba have been on the schedule you and Ryan have for weeks." She says reassuring me. "Hey now that you mention it. Where is Ryan I figured you two would be together considering y'all don't have practice till later?" Kaylie asks. "He said he had to take care of something and not to wait up for him. He also told me that I could come hang out with y'all cause he didn't want to hog me the whole time." I say laughing as me and the girls continue to catch up.

Ryan's P.O.V

"Mr.Sanders?" I ask as I enter his trailer. "Ryan, hey there! And how many times do I have to tell you call me Casey. Mr. Sanders makes me feel so..weird" he closes with a laugh. "Well any other time I would love to call you Casey but right now, Mr. Sanders feels more appropriate." I say a little nervous. "What's going on Ryan? Is everything okay?" He asks suddenly all attention on me. "Yeah. Everything is great and I like the old-fashioned way of things and well-.....I-....I'm just gonna-... okay. I wanted to ask your permission to ask Allison to marry me?" I say eventually looking at Casey in the eye. "I appreciate that you felt the need to ask me. Your a very respectful and caring young man and you make my daughter so happy. Yes. You have my permission to ask Allison to marry you. Besides I already think of you as a son. Why not make it official?" He says finishing off with a laugh. "Really!? Thank you so much sir." I say finally able to breathe again. "When do you plan on asking?" He asks. "Three weeks. Chase, Bubba, kaylie, Erik, Amanda, Taylor, Allison and I are all going on a trip to Bora Bora as an end of the season party/trip. Allison has always talked about going there and is super excited. I wanted to propose on the trip on bora bora." I explain. "She is going to love that. Promise me you'll have Chase or Kaylie or one of the other take plenty of pictures?" He says. "Absolutely." I speak as my phone begins to ring and I see its Ally. "Hey Al." "I'm talking to your dad. He's made food. Are you done with the girls?" "Okay. See you in a few. I love you." I finish the conversation and hang up. "You two are so cute. Is she on her way over?" Casey asked. "Yeah. She's on her way from Erik's trailer. Should be here in a couple minutes" I say sitting down on the couch smiling like a mad man. I'm gonna get to propose to the girl of dreams.
