Chapter 22: driver intros and pit roads

Ally's P.O.V

It was now 9:04 and me and Ryan had just got word that driver introductions are starting in 20 minuets. Sadly we had to stop the movie with about 20 minuets left. We were hopping to come back and finish it later because it was just getting to the good part. "I'm take the bathroom to change you can have the bedroom." Ryan says as we each grab our bags and go and change into our fire suits.

When I get done I throw my hair up into a ponytail and grab my shoes and walk out into the main part of my dads RV. I see all my family sitting there on there phones. Geez this generation. I sit down next to my dad on the couch and I begin to put on my shoes. "Do you have to go meet mark before driver intros?" My dad asks making conversation as everyone looks up from there phones. "No. I don't think so. He texted me a couple hours ago telling me just meet him on pit road this week." I say. "Okay. You better get going. You have to be there in 15 minuets." My dad speaks referring to driver intros. "I'm trying to wait for Ry but if he doesn't hurry up I'm gonna have to go without him he's always late." I say. "Really?" Beth chimes in. "Yes. The other day he took me in a date and it too me an half an hour to get ready and he took and hour!" I express. "Did not?" Ryan interjects. "Uh huh. Sureeee." I say rolling my eyes. "Come on let's go Ryan. We about to be late." I say walking out the camper with hopefully Ryan following suit. "You ready for tonight?" Ryan asks catching up to me catching my hand in his. "Yeah. Considering this was all last minute I'm really excited to work my way from the back to the front. " I say.  "Race ya!" Ryan yells and begins to sprint to the stage being me back to reality. "Cheater!" I laugh as he is already pretty good distance away from me as I begin to run to catch up to him. I don't what I would do without even when I'm upset he stills makes me smile.

"I win." Ryan says as we reach the back of the stage with all the other Xfinity drivers running tonight. I see William and I point him out to Ryan. William seems to be talking to Elliot Sadler with his back to us. "I know what your thinking. Let's do it!" Ryan whispers to me as we begin to sneak up behind ole Willy B. Me and Ryan both jump on him and he almost stumbles to the ground with all the force from us. "Ahhhhhhh. What the hell you too?" He turns around as I see Elliot laughing so hard he begins to cough behind him. "Your face was priceless Will." I say in between laughs. "I hate you both. Who's idea was it this time?" Will asks crossing his arms over his chest. As fast as he asks that question me and Ryan both point at each other. "I really hate you sanders." Will speaks. "What! Ryan did it too!" I say in my defense. "Yes bug I know you both. You thought of the idea and Blaney confirmed it and encouraged you more didn't he?" Will asks. "Maybe.....oh look I think it's time for intros, bye will bye Ry." I say leaning up to give Ryan a kiss on the cheek. "Grosssss." Will yells while sheilding his eyes. "Suck it up buttercup" I say and flip him off as I walk away.

" —the 22 tire discounter Ford Fusion, Allison Sanders." As they finish my name I begin to walk out and wave to the fans then proceed to my car.

"Good luck ally." Beth says as she gives me a hug. "Show then what you got honey." Grandma speaks. "Don't get hurt." Caleb speaks. Thanks caleb🙄. "Thank you everyone. Also I'm really sorry about the late night." I say giving them all hugs. "Ahhhh." I yell as I feel someone grab my waist. I turn around and I notice it's Ryan. "Don't do that dumbass. You know I hate that." I yell playfully shoving him. "What are you doing down here. Your starting 8th and the invocation is about to start?" "Well I wanted to come stand with you like I normally do for cup races. It's that okay?" He asks. "It's perfect." I say. "Ladies and gentleman please rise and remove you caps for tonight's invocation and national anthem." The announcer interrupts me and Ryan line you next to my car. He is in my right and has his left arm around me. Then next to me is my dad, mark, Beth, grandpa and the rest of my family as well.

*time skip*

"—and the home of the braveee." We all clap and I turn to Ryan to tell him goodbye since he has to walk all the back down pit road to get to his car. "Good luck out there baby. Your gonna do amazing." Ryan says holding me in his arms. "Thank you baby. Good luck. I know you'll do amazing." I say hugging him back. As I pull away I steal a kiss and Ryan pulls me in deeper and deeper until I realize that I'm standing like 4 feet away from my family and also Caleb and my aunt who hates him. I pull away and he gives me a bewildered look. He looks into my eyes and knows that I didn't want to stop the kiss but I had to carouse he needs to go to his car and my family is behind us watching all of this. "I love you. Rock and roll baby." He says kissing my cheek one last time. " I love you. Rock and roll babe." I say as he lets go of me and begins walking to his car. "Well that was something." Mark says. "Zip it." I say and roll my eyes and the rest of my family is laughing with me. I give them all hugs and then my dad helps me get into the car. Let's rock and roll.
