~ Aaditya ~

I grunted and turned my alarm clock off. My neck tickled every now and then, and I scratched it. I felt something soft of my back and my hand flew to that spot in an attempt to pull my blanket over, only to land on something even softer, and it certainly didn't feel like a blanket. It seemed to me like someone's.. hand?!

I hauled into wake and turned around on my bed.

"Fuck."

What was she doing here?

As if by instinct, my head jerked in the direction of the adjacent wall. Had she seen it? No, if she had, she wouldn't be sleeping next to me. Maybe, she missed it in the dark of the night. Yes, it was possible. Totally. So it meant that I still had a chance.

I scooted away carefully. I didn't want her to wake up before I was ready. I doubled over and tried to reach for the opaque plastic sheet from under my bed. I remembered last using it, back when Dad used to be my father and cared enough to show up in my room unannounced and intrude my privacy. But that was long before I shut him out; and I was over it. I snatched the duct tape from one of the shelves and got to work. When I was done, I stood back and relaxed. The whole wall was now covered and there wasn't a thing that could be seen.

I glanced at Sapna, who was peacefully asleep. I went to her and crouched by the bed, my gaze landing on her beautiful face. Grazing a finger over her soft lips, I thought about yesterday.

She kissed me.

Sapna. My Sapna.

Her velvety lips, her furry skin, and her silky hair – she felt so soft and so delicious; I could kiss her for days straight. My breathing grew harder and my mouth went dry. She was right there, in front of me. When I kissed her, she didn't push me away. She returned my kiss. That had to mean something. One, she was remembering everything and two; she sure as hell liked me back. Frosting on the cake that was.

I shook my head, blinking away the fancies. I had plans today, and in order to get started with my day, I needed an isolated room. And in order to isolate my room, I needed to wake Sapna up.

I focused my attention over her tranquil, soothing composure. Her powerfully fascination face help calm in the way her unmoving eyes lay close, giving her neatly trimmed eyebrows an air of attraction. Her perfect nose held a constant flux with every breath she took and her feathery soft lips were curved in the slightest order flaunting the shadow of her concealed smile. Damn, I treasured her.

Since she had been here, she had been sleeping more, which made the darkness under her eyes lighten and I could see the glow returning on her face. I glanced back towards the wall veiled with plastic and exhaled loudly before turning my attention back towards her. Unable to control my urge, I leaned in and placed a kiss on her cheek. Her eyes snapped open and I yanked my face away.

"What are you doing?"

"I, umm.. was.. Er," I stammered, running a hand through my hair. "I was, er, trying to wake you up."

"I thought you were trying to kiss me," she snorted.

"Whatever," I muttered. "I have to get ready."

"So?" She sat up and watched me with a smile pasted on her lips.

"So I need you to leave my room."

"But I like it here. It's different, unlike the royalty flooding in the rest of the house."

"I know. Thanks," I said, wondering how I could get her out of here without her noticing what I was hiding. "Would you mind lending me some privacy?"

"Yes, I would mind." She was in a mood of making fun of me, which I would have loved if it weren't for her choice of place to do so.

"Sapna, please?" I drew out the request, making sure she understood that it was the last time I was being polite to her.

"I am not leaving," She was adamant. "Until you show me what's behind that cover." Her finger was pointed at the wall. So she had already noticed.

"Those?" I chuckled nervously. "Those are nude pictures of me."

Her brows went up to her forehead and her eyes grew the size of a golf ball as soon as the words left my mouth. I knew then that I was making yet another mistake by lying to her but there was nothing else I could do.

"I'd show you," I shrugged, more confident this time. "Unless you want to enjoy a live show."

She looked at me with a confused expression. I went ahead and pulled my T-shirt over my shoulders and flung it over the bed. Then I went for my track pants. It was then that she realized what I was up to.

"Stop!" she yelped, covering her eyes.

So typical, I thought and smiled to myself.

"Fine," she held her hands up. "I'll just go. No need to do this. Sorry."

After getting ready, I trotted to the living room and spot Sapna in the kitchen.

"Here." She passed me a plate which had a paratha and a bowl of yoghurt.

"Good morning to you too," I said, hoping she wasn't mad at me.

She flashed me a rehearsed smile and went back to flipping her paratha. I looked down at the plate in my hands and let out a defeated sigh.

Sapna loved aloo parathas, and now she had grown to love cooking them for me. I couldn't deny that fact that they tasted absolutely divine. The only problem was that my stomach had never been polite to potatoes. But I never told her that, because I had done a fair job hurting her more times than needed and I didn't want to raise the count. So instead, I quietly ate them as she kept on serving them to me. Well, not so quietly, given the moans that escaped my lips with their heavenly taste. She reminded me so much of Mumma; I savored every bite I took.

When she joined me on the table, I spoke, "I'm leaving early today. I'm meeting a friend and then I will take the classes as usual. So I will meet you directly after that, in the evening."

"Can't I come along?"

"You won't fit in," I said, eating a spoonful of curd.

"Please?" She made that cute pout; a face I couldn't refuse to. But it wouldn't be good if she met Vidhi on her birthday.

"No." I pretended to be unshakeable.

"Is it because you're embarrassed of me? Because I'm crazy? Because I don't remember who I used to be?"

"Sapna, you're making it sound very harsh. You won't fit in. That's that."

I got up, took my bag and my keys, and left.
