Found and Lost

Chapter 36: Back together

-"Are you ok?"- A boy entered the room where Angie was

-"I want my mommy and daddy!"- Angie answered to the boy, crying.

-"We're here, hun"- Nick entered the room and kneeled to her bedside, Lauren following him and the boy stayed there. -"You're home"-, he said to her, giving a kiss on her forehead. She continued crying.

-"But you're not my mom and dad"- the girl said, crying.

-"Hun, they don't love you, especially after the new baby arrives"- Lauren said, evil. Angie cried more. Then, Lauren and Nick left the room, followed by their son.

It was Wednesday early morning, Checo was sleeping on a couch next to the bed where his wife was. Suddenly, a noise makes him wake up.

-"Hun, what are you doing?!"- he exclaimed after seeing Sara trying to remove some of the tubes she had connected.

-"Help me, please"- she said. Checo was already taking her hands, impeding her to continue. -"I have to find her"- she said, crying.

-"You can't go, and less in your condition"- he said as calm as possible. -"You have to think about our baby..."- he was saying, being interrupted abruptly.

-"You don't care about my daughter!"- she said very upset. After a moment of silence, and several attempts by Checo to convince her he cared for the girl, Sara continued speaking. -"Please, let me go, I know where she could be". Then, she told him where she could be.

The next day, in the USA...

-"Police Department, open the door!"- The police knocked the door of the Carter's Residence. After a moment, the door was opened by Lauren. She got arrested. -"Mr Carter, give us the girl!"- one of the officers demanded to Nick, who refused to give her

-"But she's my daughter!"- he shouted. -"I..."- he said, making a pause. He hesitated for a moment, breaking down in tears.

Meanwhile, In Monaco...

-"Sir, we found her"- an officer called Checo. He immediately took a flight to the USA, while Sara stayed in the hospital, cared for by her parents. The three of them could not stop crying, calmed knowing that Angie was found.

The next day...

-"Mummy, are you still going to love me when the baby arrives?"- Angie shyly asked her mom.

-"Listen, hun, never think that I'm going to stop loving you. I love you with all my being, and I always will"-, Sara said, giving her a big hug and filling her with kisses.

-"I love you too, mummy!"- Angie said, filling Sara with kisses too.

-"Angie, time to let mom rest"-, Checo said.

-"More time, please daddy!"- Angie begged.

-"So you don't want icecream?"- Checo asked her. Angie immediately climbed off the bed and left the room with his father.

In the next days, Sara was sent home with strict rest for a couple of weeks. Angie only had a sprained wrist, but she was starting to have nightmares, so she didn't attend school for a couple of weeks. The Monaco GP arrived fast, it wasn't a good one for Pérez, he finished third behind Rosberg and Ricciardo after having problems in the first part of the race. But he recovered his momentum in the Canadian GP, where he got the pole and finished second behind Vettel.
