Chapter 11: Surprises

A couple of weeks later, in Belgium....

"Hey, Sara, can you please take Kimi and me some pictures'"- Minttu said excited, showing her finger, it has a ring with a jade encrusted.

"OMG, congrats!"- Sara screamed and hugged her friend. "When did he proposed?"- she asked, admiring the ring.

"In Cancun, the night before we left."- she said back. Then another couple arrived.

"Is it what I think it is?"- Asked Hulk and Egle in unisound.

"Yes and I knew what I was doing"- said Kimi. Then, Minttu showed them her ring.

"Congrats!"- Hulk and his girlfriend hugged the engaged couple.

"I have a feeling you're going to be the next"- Nico told Checo to the ear.

"The next what? Champion?"- Checo asked to his team mate.

"Maybe..not! The next one to get engaged"- Hulk said.

It was a successful weekend for Force India, having their German driver as the pole man and race winner, while Pérez took the second place and still leading the championship by 57 from the Hulk, who was now second in the WDC.

Back in Checo's motorhome, Sara and her colleague Dana where checking some pictures

"When are you saying it to Checo?"- Dana, Sara's colleague and friend asked Sara. In that moment, Checo was entering the motorhome and heard the conversation.

"Tell me what?"- Checo said puzzled. Then, Dana decided to go and leave the couple to talk.

"Nothing, love"- Sara said, distracted with her laptop.

"Are you sure?"- he insisted to her. She turned off her laptop and sat beside him. After a couple of minutes in silence that felt an eternity to Checo, Sara finally decided to talk.

"Ok, just forgive me"- she said with a pause and continued, Checo was confused. "I lost our baby"- she said crying. Checo was speechless, the only thing he could do was hug her. After a few minutes, she continued, "I found out I was pregnant two weeks ago.."- she was saying but was interrupted by Checo.

"Two weeks and you didn't tell me?!"- he said upset. "Thanks for trusting in me!"- he said and stormed out of the motorhome. Sara stayed there, crying. It was almost midnight when Checo came back, with red eyes. His girlfriend was in the bed, crying too.

"I was going to tell you straight away when I found out, but we're busy. Then, I planned to tell you after the race, but I felt some pain during Tuesday... and next morning I had a bleeding and..."- she couldn't continue. Checo was listening and comforting her.

"Shh, everything will be alright. You don't need to go through this alone"- He said to her, hugging her.

The weeks passed very slow; and with the Italian GP in the corner, Sara wasn't in the mood of working, despite Checo tried to convince her to distract working. She didn't like the idea, so he suggested her to go on a small vacation with Angie, something Sara agreed if he joined them after the race. The girls traveled to Disney Paris, while Checo took a flight to Monza.

On their third day, they were enjoying a nice day in one of the parks. While waiting in the que for one of the games, when someone touched Sara's shoulder. She turned her face to the man standing behind her.

"Sara?". the man said. Sara looked him surprised.

"Howie?"- she said back to him. After a moment, both hugh each other. "long time no see!"- she exclaimed. She couldn't believe they met each other there after a long time.

"You're the one who disappeared!"- Howie said while they're advancing in the que. They continued talking after they climbed off of the game. That night, and joined by Checo, they went to dinner.

"Cheers for the Italian GP winner!"- Howie said, raising a glass of wine to celebrate Checo's win that evening in Monza. The next day, both families went to visit the Tour Eiffel, the Champs Elysees and other emblematic places. In the night, they went for a coffee to get some time to talk, while their partners and the kids stayed resting in the hotel.

They were updated with their lives after a long time apart and remembering the good times when they worked together.

"She looks like Nick"- suddenly Howie said.

"Excuse me?"- Sara replied, almost splitting her coffee.

"Your daughter, she has that big smile from him, and his eyes"- he mentioned. She was speechless. She stood up and walked a few steps, nervous.
