Chapter 13

It had been an entire day since Donnie disappeared and it made the three brothers sacred. Did something happen that made him run off? Did they do something? Is he even ok? So many questions and no answer to any of them. It was finally dark enough to leave the sewers to search for their missing brother.

Donnie didn't remember when he fell asleep, but when he woke up, he saw that he had you in his arms. He was leaning against an air vent, in the shadows naturally. You were sound asleep but he was still surprised that you were sleeping on his plastron with his arms around your. Donnie relaxes a little before holding you closer, it's so surreal that he ever felt so happy. He thought about this and decided to that he will do anything to protect you, no matter what. He absolutely refuse to have his (Y/N) hurt by anything!

Donnie shook his head in shock, 'his' (Y/N)? Where did that thought come from? Why is he feeling so protective of you? He was never this protective of April.....what is wrong with him? 'Maybe....maybe I'm moving on...I think I'm falling in love with...', Donnie looks down at you. You were sleeping peacefully, you head against his plastron and listening to his heartbeat. You looked absolutely beautiful when asleep.

Donnie shook his head again, what is happening to him?! His emotions are going out of control and he's having a hard time to keep it all in. He vowed to never show his true emotions with anyone, not even his father for goodness sake!! Donnie gritted his teeth in frustration but he tries to calm down so as to not wake you. He sighed, he was getting a headache from the emotional block breaking just a bit. Maybe a few more minutes of sleep will help, he was growing tired from the mental battle anyway.

As his eyes started to close, he suddenly heard someone...calling his name? Donnie's eyes shot open and looks up, he saw three figures coming his way! Donnie's heart skipped a beat, no....not now, he has to hide before they see you. He looks around for a place to hide, heart beating faster in fear. Donnie slowly picked stood up with you in his arms and ducked into an alleyway.

Donnie hid in the shadows holding you tightly as the three figures flew over them. He waited until sounds of footsteps disappeared completely, he exhaled a breath he didn't know that he was holding and sat down. They're gone, good riddance to them! Donnie realizes a new emotion entering his mind and heart....hatred....it was a very unusual emotion. He doesn't hate his brothers, right?

Donnie felt movement in his arms, he looks down and saw you waking up. "Huh?....what's going on", you asked, still half asleep. Donnie cringed, he didn't mean to wake you, "uh, nothing (Y/N), go back to sleep", he said, hoping you would fall back asleep. You just yawned a ,"ok", and fell back asleep. Donnie sighed in relief, but another thought came to mind, he doesn't want to go home, he wants to stay by your side to protect you from his family.

With his mind set, he left to alley to the rooftop. Making sure no one's nearby, Donnie bolted to find a place for you and him to stay, maybe a warehouse of some kind. He didn't care, as long as it's somewhere safe....unbeknownst to him, Karai was quietly following him. 'Maybe with enough convincing, he might be of help to the foot clan', thought the Kunoich, smirking at her plan....
