Just like any other day, I sat next to Yoshi during class."Alright." Haru said, calling everyone's attention to the front. I almost groaned out loud.I had nothing against Haru, just his class. One thing I will never be used to is sitting in a seat, encased by four walls; waiting for hours until I can reclaim my freedom. Call me exaggerative, but if you had to spend hours doing nothing but listen and sit, you would agree in a heartbeat.
"There should be a sheet of paper in front of you." He informed us."I want everyone of you to draw or write the dream you want to achieve as a ninja."
Yoshi immediately picked up his pencil, scribbling and writing away. Well atleast one of us knows what we want to achieve in life. I still don't understand why everyone in this room is so determined to be a ninja. A ninja isn't one who lives the good life while beating up bad guys every other day.
"Why aren't you writing anything?" Yoshi elbowed me, staring down at my blank sheet of paper."Haru-Sensei is going to be annoyed if you don't-"
"I don't know what to put." I muttered, and he stared at me oddly."Don't give me that look."
"It's just... don't you want to do more than just be an average ninja?" He questioned, and I knew where this was leading to."I mean your dad is Ka-"
My glare caused his words to instantly stay at bay."Finish those words if you'd like." I growled. He knew more than anyone that I hated when people tried to force a huge expectation like than upon me. I would never be Kazekage, it isn't me; That is not my destiny.
"I rather keep my head where it is, thank you very much." He said, causing the both of us to smirk.
"What did you write?" I asked, peering over his shoulder. He hid his paper by swiftly turning it over.
"I'll tell you someday." He smiled cheekily. Haru then looked over at our side of the room, or to be more specific, me."You better make something up, or he's going to throw a fit."
"He doesn't scare me." I shrugged, begrudgingly picking up my pencil.
"C'mon aren't you aleast intimidated by that look he always gives us?" He looked at me in disbelief.
"He could threaten to throw me off the Great Naruto Bridge and I still won't be intimidated by him." I said, struggling to write three words. Why was thinking of a dream so hard?!
I was about to ball up my paper in annoyance when my name was predictably called."Ruri." Haru called.
"Yes?" I answered, ignoring Yoshi who face planted the desk in dread for me. I kicked his foot harshly causing him to quickly sit up and glare at me.
"Why don't you come up to the front and tells us what you have on your paper?" He smiled. Not that I care what anyone else in this room (with the exception of Yoshi) thinks, but why must teachers find the need to embarrass their students. It's not like it's gonna help them be better.
"What if I want to go first." Yoshi stated, as always trying to defend and look out for me. Sometimes I think he'll be af the end of someone's blade for me, but that's okay because I would do the same."I wouldn't want Beehive to get all of the glory."
"Keep your mout shut Ito." He referred to Yoshi by his last name, giving him a stern look. His mouth was closed in a second. Why was it that kids were afraid of adults? Too many questions, not enough answers.... "Ruri."
I refrained from glaring at him as I got up and made my way over to the front. Moeru snickered when I passed by him, and Sora merely looked on stoically.
I stopped at the front, turning to face everyone.
