Things gradually went back to normal. Yoshi was there to blind me with his smile again. I didn't know how he managed, but he did, and that was all that truly mattered. It felt like after going through that obstacle, are friendship only became stronger."This one is my favorite!" The rambunctious blonde exclaimed pointing a finger to one of the manga that was scattered all over his floor. He then started to ramble on that it was about a guy finding a notebook in which your wrote the name of a person and they'll die. Weird..... Just like him.
Yoshi would constantly try to get me to play games, and act like a kid. I realized that he really cares. He's been the only other child that has tried to be my friend. He's been there even when I tried to push him away. What have I really done to deserve such a great friend? Comfort him? Listen to his endless talking? I really didn't know.
I looked at his digital clock to see it was four o'clock. An annoyed sigh escaped my lips as I stood up."I have to go. I was supposed to meet Kankuro at the training grounds about thrity minutes ago."
He laughed at my lack of punctuality m,"Shouldn't you be rushing over there then? He's going to kill you."
The last time I trained with him he was late. So although I did this unintentionally, it can be considered as payback.
"He'll survive."I scoffed, stretching my arms lazily above my head."Besides he wouldn't even try."
"What makes you so confident?" He asked, flipping a page in one of the books.
"Gaara." Was all I had to say for him to realize what I meant. He laughed and shook his head. I smirked about to leave when I was stopped by him raising an arm, his fist was out to me.
I tilted my head in confusion before deciding on what to do. Slowly raising my hand towards his fist, I lightly tapped his knuckles with the tips of my three middle fingers. A chuckle escaped his lips, and I rolled my eyes at him before leaving his room. I guess that wasn't what I was supposed to do....
"See ya, Beehive!" He shouted out of his door.
I had made my way down the steps when I came to hault at the bottom.Yoshi's dad looked at me and smile. I wasn't sure on how to react so I nodded, and walked past him.
"Thank you, Ruri." My feet stopped at his words and I looked back to him. What did I do to receive words of gratitude from him? I didn't do anything just allowed him to explain himself more."You don't smile, yet you managed to put one back on my son. I'm glad he has someone there who can easily do that."
"Well....." I thought for a moment before finally saying,"He's never left my side. He's my best friend...."
*******
We were outside in the back of the academy. My whole class stood in a circle, watching Haru explain what we were going to do today."I'm going to have you guys have a friendly taijutsu battle. One pair at a time."
I held back an annoyed groan. The last thing I wanted to do was scramble around the ground with some kid. Watching these little battles go on isn't going to be all that fun either...
"Let's see..." Haru mused, looking around him, trying to decide who should go first. Some kids backed away terrified and nervous. Others, like Yoshi, stood straight and hoped they would be chosen. I stuffed my hands in my pockets trying to blend in and not be seen. That was hard to do considering I was standing beside Yoshi, who was about to start screaming and bouncing about.
