The first day is proving to be the worst day. Sitting in a classroom, listening to a teacher give a relentless speech wasn't something I wanted to do.

Some of the kids here were clueless to what was going on, while others were jumping in there seats giddily. They actually wanted to be here, yet I don't really get why.

A yawn escaped my lips, as I rested my chin on the palm of my hand. I chose to sit all the way in the back, a empty spot was between me and some other kid. This way it'd be less likely I'd get called on, I just have to not draw attention to myself.

Our 'sensei', Haru, took attendance and just talked about the things that we will be going over this year. I zoned out though, and just stared out the window.

Suna is a very.... interesting place. Eventhough there really isn't much to see but sand. How do these people stay sane when the only color they ever see is beige. Well... maybe not just beige, but that's besides the point.

If there's one thing that I'm really fascinated by it's the messenger birds. They're supposed to be the fastest, and learning a thing or two about them wouldn't hurt. Just something to take my mind off how miserably bored and tired I am...

Is this what it feels like to be in school?... Nice...

"Alright, it's time for lunch." Haru stated when the clock struck twelve.

I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear as I got up and made my way to the outside area along with the rest of the kids. There were a few benches and tables, along with a playground. A tall, wooden fence also surrounded the perimeter of the place. I wonder if someone ever tried to ditch by climbing over it.

Kids were running around, laughing, eating, and trying to make friends. I, on the other hand, tried to make my way over to a quiet place. I didn't bring anything to eat with me for lunch, but I discretely ate an apple in class. Breaking the first rule; no eating in class.

Apparently Haru has a problem with children making a mess in his class. He's probably cleaning that place top to bottom because of our 'sticky' little fingers at the moment.

"Hey, kid!" I turned around to be faced with a blonde-haired boy. I narrowed my eyes at him, irritated at the fact that he ruined my intentions on finding a quiet place.

"What?" I asked, concealing the great annoyance I was feeling towards him.

"Umm... What's your name?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. Are you kidding me? He stopped just to ask for my name?

"None of your buisness." Was my blunt, and rude answer.

"My name is Yoshi." He said, not taking the obvious hint that showed that I didn't care. "I just want to make a friend."

"Well I'm not." I snapped, then sighed, shoving my hands into my skirt pockets."There are plenty of other kids here. Why not talk to them?"

"All of them aren't.... You know... alone... So, I might as well make friends with someone who hasn't made a friend yet." He explained, smiling ever so cheerfully at me.

"You have a better chance at finding someone who cares with them. So, just leave me alone." I said, turning around.

"W-wait up!" He exclaimed, following me as I kept walking. "Hey! Slow down!"

"Kid, how dense can you be?" I insulted, rolling my eyes and not turning back to look at him once.

"I just want to be your friend! Is that such a crime!?" He shouted at me.

"Friend?" I laughed mockingly, "Get real. I don't even know you, much less care about you."

"Maybe you would if you bothered to listen!" He shot back. "How can you survive out there without making a single friend!"
