CHAPTER 7

Affiliation

-JC-

"All of them, I guess." The words ran through my mind, even in my dreams. What was I thinking?! Argh. He didn't notice my change of feelings, though. That can't be helped, honestly, because a vital part of Kyousuke is being dense.

He actually agreed to sleep beside me. God, this is just way too mushy and sweet to be considered happening outside the television screen. I felt him move one of his arms and wrap them around me. 'What the hell, Sushi?!' I thought. I realized I had no other choice but to give in into it. I asked for this in the first place. But seriously! This is too fluffy to be true!

The next morning I awoke to the sound of my email alert and the feel of not having the dense dog beside me. I rose slowly and looked at the screen. There were three emails displayed: one from Kyousuke, one from Luke and one from the editor-in-chief of the school paper. I checked the one that was from the paper and almost fell out of my chair after reading the contents.

To: JC Snow

The school is dying for an interview from you about a certain matter! :D

Care to share? Then meet me at the school's canteen, table twelve. That's all, thanks!

"No," I muttered. I replied a 'NO, thank you' and checked Luke's.

Hey JC! The school is talking a hell lot about you, Kyou and the headline at the paper! Did this really happen?! 'Coz me and Erin are thinking it was photoshopped.

"What is this with the newspaper?!" I growled loudly. I noticed Luke was online- probably defying the 'no gadgets during class' rule again- and sent him a reply.

What's up with the paper?!

While waiting for his reply, I opened Kyousuke's.

Remember the open window last night? The paper's photographer sneaked up there and took a photo when I assisted you. It's published in the school paper's front page with the headline 'A Fairytale Story Between Fire and Ice'. They asked me for my opinion, and I told them I was just helping you up because you were so weak with flu. I just wanted you to know because I thought it was better if you knew it earlier than get greeted at school about it. Tell me if what I said didn't feel right to you, so I could properly apologize to you about it. See ya.

"Such a righteous bastard." I opened Luke's reply and it had the same subject. I sighed and asked him to give Kyousuke a copy and bring it back with him. He agreed and promised me he would. I waited eagerly for the dog to arrive until then.

I was clearly waiting for hours because the moment Kyousuke set foot inside the room, I grabbed his bag and fished out the newspaper. He just watched me with curiosity as I read the article out loud and reacted at some of the assumed and decorative lies.

A FAIRYTALE STORY BETWEEN FIRE AND ICE

We had recently discovered an interesting event at the room of the very popular JC Snow- St. Peter's Cold Princess-- and the Sunlit Prince, Kyousuke Tsukiakari. As shown in the picture we took while checking the dorms out,

"Or more like sneaking around like a pervert wanting too peek in on a girl..." I muttered. Kyousuke ended up laughing. "What?! It's the truth. The opened window made sense!"

"Fine. Read on."

They were in the middle of a candid

"No, it's in the middle of an honest, pure and no-malice-included moment." Kyousuke nodded and added, "Plus, I was just helping."

Moment where Tsukiakari held Snow in a gentle hold. In the second photo, he is shown carrying her back into their room

"You may be carrying me back, but seriously it meant nothing else than helping. Ugh, assuming people just get my patience running dry!"

And later returned to the kitchen to make her a warm compress and bring her dinner. Has the ice around Snow's heart finally thawed from the sunlight from Tsukiakari? Will we finally get back the old JC we once had? Or will the ice grow back and thicken, never to be penetrated by light again? We will see, through time, in a fairytale story between fire and ice.

"You will see, when this dang flu goes away, that all your thoughts are wrong." Kyousuke crossed his arms. "The writing was pretty cool, actually. Had that captivating effect on it."

"It had an aura of lies on it, according to my never-mistaken perception." He sighed and took the paper from me, taking a look at the pictures. "They're all at really good angles, so when you look at them, the first thought that jumps to mind is that we're being lovey-dovey."

"Since when did you know so much about photography?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.

"I have a friend back in Japan," he smiled knowingly. "His name is Evin Fuyuko. He's practically the best photographer I know."

-Kyousuke-

Being a sudden celebrity at school isn't actually as cool as it sounds. Being swarmed with people and being flooded with questions can be annoying sometimes. Now everyone thinks I'm making a move on JC, when I'm not. I guess people just want to bring back the old JC, the happy, outgoing one.

On another note, Christmas is getting near. The teachers already closed down the school and began decorating the dorms. In a matter of a few days, colorful lights and strings of decorations were strewn everywhere, giving off that warm feel of Christmas despite being in winter. Luke, Miss Nina, Erin, Margaret, JC and I agreed on making a little party at our room, so we all set out to make it as decorated as the dorm's other rooms are.
