CHAPTER 17
Interruption
-Kyousuke-
Luke came up to me with a huge, idiotic grin on his face. "I know, Luke. I know. You don't have to babble it for the millionth time."
The smile on his face didn't fade away as he gladly defied my statement. He took me by my shoulders and shook me wildly. "The prom is in a week! Come on now, Kyou! Admit it! You want to invite JC as much as you want to invite Margaret!"
I scoffed. "That makes me the worst two timer ever."
"And that's how I like it!" He began jumping about like a monkey until he tripped against Margaret. "Oh, sorry, Quinn, I wasn't looking."
She ignored him, which sent smoke shooting out of his ears-- figuratively speaking, that is. Luke hates it when his charms are being ignored. "Um, Kyousuke? I've been thinking if I could be your date to the prom."
Girls in my hometown aren't this direct, and there's only one girl in SPHS who's this straightforward: JC. "U-uh... about that..."
I was about to say it was okay when JC swept past the three of us, a cold aura around her which probably came from the sight of Margaret. Come on, this has got to be breaking the world record for the worst timing ever. Luke began chuckling like he was on drugs and began swatting at my back with a malicious look on his face. I felt Margaret growing out of place, so I turned to her and nodded. "Sure."
Luke's jaw dropped as he watched Margaret walk away happily. "What about JC?! Heck, you didn't even think of her!"
I sighed. "Even if I kneeled on broken glass and begged her, she won't come with me to the prom."
"Of course. Ian already asked me."
"You heard that? That is perfect proo--" I stopped and the two of us realized that JC was there all along, her arms crossed. "JC?"
"Which Ian?" Luke asked instantly, his voice totally altered. Mood swinging beverage fetishist. "Ian-whoever-he-is?"
JC nodded gracefully. "Wow. As in... wow. You don't even know him!" Luke exclaimed. "He's just probably lusting after you, or even has these carnal desires about yo--"
JC kicked him in the shins. "Erin knows him."
"But you don't. How long did it take you to trust me? Why does that twit get your trust in one second when I had to suffer for one semester?" I demanded.
"How long will it take you to ask me, then?"
I gulped. I know I can never win against her, so I lowered my head down. "Fine. Will you come with me to the prom?"
She smirked. "Of course not. You have Margaret."
"My God, won't you two just get a room already?" Luke groaned from the sidelines.
JC shot him a killer glare. "Excuse me, Luke?"
"You two just keep on arguing and leaving me out of the subject. Seriously, when's the wedding?"
I sighed and opened my mouth to talk, but JC interrupted me. "And, no. Don't even think of ditching that slut so you can bring me." She turned to leave. Mind reader much?
Luke patted me. I was actually expecting a wise quote or some helpful advice, but all he said was, "I'm more charming than you, yet you've got two girls fighting over you while I get none."

-JC-
Erin brought me to the tailor so a dress could be made for me. She was excited as heck and acted like a mother choosing a wedding gown for her daughter. She'd bark orders at me like, "Sit still, JC!" and "Dagnabbit, why don't you just shut up and wait for the tailor to finish?" Well, she had the right to tell me that since I was squirming and complaining all the way. Dresses are seriously not my thing. Skirts would probably do, but dresses? No.
