CHAPTER 19
Affection
-Kyousuke-
"It's prom night!" Luke howled as he took my coat and threw it at me. "Pick up the speed! We're going to fetch some pretty girls!"
I pulled off the coat that landed on my head and sighed. "It's just morning, Luke."
"Aww, you're such a giga killjoy!" He pulled on my tie, choking me in the process. "The point is, prom night is invented so guys can see the girls look their best."
I coughed since Luke punctuated his every word with a tug on my tie. It was still early in the morning yet he was talking about prom night. "I don't remember you making a point."
He went off babbling about prom while I saw JC roll in her bed and groan. "Luke," I warned. "You're disturbing JC now..."
He clambered off me and jumped to the bed. "Cannonball!" he exclaimed, landing on JC. This effectively woke her up. "Wake up li'l sis!"
I heard JC snarl and say, "What the heck is wrong with you, Luke?! And get off me you bastard!" She started hitting him but since all the lights in the room blinded her, she couldn't hit well enough to shut him up. "Don't be so goddamn noisy!" Woah, never knew she can be angry like that. "This is my room, so one of my rules is the one talking about being quiet when I am asleep!"
"This is my school, so one of my rules is the one talking about me getting to do what I want." He winked at her when she realized his point. "Haha, weak."
While they bickered, I said, "JC, get yourself moving. You're awake now. I've made some breakfast."
She didn't budge even though Luke was still getting all tangled with her in the sheets. "Who the hell cares about breakfast?!" She crashed down on the bed regardless if one of Luke's body parts was there and ignored me. I went over to the bed, pushed Luke off it in a tangle of blankets and picked her up. She was thrashing wildly in my arms but it was worth it to get her sitting in front of the kitchen table.
She glared at me before stomping off to the bathroom.

After helping Luke out of the tangle of blankets and getting him out of the room, I knocked cautiously on the bathroom door.
Nothing.
I picked up a pan from the counter to use as a shield in case she throws shampoo bottles at me again and twisted the door open. Instead of JC probably showering or fixing herself, she was asleep on top of a closed toilet with a toothbrush in her mouth.
I set down the pan and smiled. Picking up a lipstick that Erin left for her, I did something quite fun.

-JC-
I stormed out of the bathroom after realizing I fell asleep and when I did, I saw Kyousuke laughing his head off when he looked at me. I immediately rushed back to the bathroom and looked at the mirror-- only to see the most horrifying cat art drawn on my face. After washing it off I charged into Kyousuke-- who was sitting on his bed-- and hit him with the pillows. "You freaking immature bastard!"
He was still laughing as he fended off my attacks. Soon, we were both laughing.
When we calmed down, we both just sat up on the bed and said nothing. "I can't believe it," he said.
"What?"
"I actually made you laugh."
"Nobody cares, perp."
After that we were quiet again. And then out of the blue, I felt him wrap his arms around me tightly. "K-kyousuke?"
"I feel like I don't want to leave," he murmured, sadness lacing his voice.
I sighed. "You have to. What was your plan anyway? Stay low so you won't have any strings attached? Come on now, that's impossible."
I felt him smile and pull away from the hug. We stared at each other for a while until I felt his lips onto mine. It was a long, gentle and subtle kiss, intended to leave a memory.
"I'll miss you," he said after pulling away.
"I know, Kyousuke..." There was a tingling feeling left on my lips even as I spoke. "I know."
