Danny began laughing wildly. She bent over and wrapped her arms around her stomach at the site of Freakshow. "Oh, it's only you." She hollered again. "We were thinking there was a real ghost about." Sam and Tucker joined in her laughing, pointing at the man with the highest levels of 'ghost envy'.
Freakshow scrunched his face and slammed his staff upon the exposed brickwork. "Silence, imbeciles!" he roared, but it didn't stop the trio from giggling. "I will command my ghost envoys to attack to kill, rather than attack for terror, if you don't shut up!"
Danny composed herself slightly and walked forward. "What, so did you plan this attack?" Danny didn't notice the news and police vans pulling up around the scene. "Have you somehow managed to gain the respect and fealty of all the ghosts? Man, I- I'm gonna give you points for that. That's some impressive stuff for a human with ghost envy."
Freakshow's expression fell. "Firstly, I DO NOT HAVE GHOST ENVY! And secondly, you gave the order to strike."
Danny choked and widened her eyes. ""Yeah, sure. Danny Phantom, the city's hero, planned a ghost attack. Alright."
"Danny Phantom, public enemy number one..." came a serpant voice from behind the gathering crowd, a figure walking forward with a slow clap. And of course it was him. His grey hair greased back into a pony tail, wearing his usual buisiness suit with red detailing. Vlad Masters. "You've really outdone yourself this time. Now we have every excuse to apprehend you."
Danny clenched her fists and turned to him. "Oh yeah, sure, Masters. You're gonna take the word of a convicted criminal that holds allegiance to evil ghosts over a superhero. That's smart."
"Maybe you've finally clicked."
"What on earth do you mean?" Vlad clicked his fingers and two large men dragged a wobbled murky figure before the mayor in chains. "Who's this?"
"One of your employees." Vlad side smirked his niece, which only make her growl. He turned to the ghost, who's eyes were plastered with fear and hope as he looked towards Danny. "Who hired you to attack?" Vlad asked. The ghost didn't reply. "Who hired you to attack." Again, the ghost remained silent, his eyes transfixed upon the ghost girl. Thing is, Danny had never seen this person before. "Who hired you to attack!" Vlad demanded.
With a squirm and grunt, the ghost lifted his hands with a clank from the green glowing chains to point at Danny. "Sh- she d- did!"
Danny kept quiet and gave him a puzzled look, then glared at the mayor. He seemed silently pleased. "We found this wretch haunting a Starbucks a few blocks away. He kept the customers and staff hostage with floating knives. But thanks to our new team of ghost hunters, everyone is safe." He was presenting to the news cameras now. "And now he says he works for you."
"I haven't seen this ghost ever before," Danny said immediatly after. "I have no affiliation with him. He's clearly a criminal, and I don't associate myself with criminals, unless it's to serve them a knuckle sandwich of justice."
With another click of his fingers, Vlad was handed a gun... an ecto-gun! He cocked it and aimed it towards the ghost's head. The ghost trembled and spluttered mercy. Vlad's face grew stern "Who do you work for?"
"Her!"
"Who do you work for?"
"Her!!"
"WHO DO YOU WORK FOR!"
"DANNY PHANTOM!"
Danny stomped her foot down and shouted, "I've never seen you before and I haven't hired anyone!"
"Then I suppose you wouldn't care if anything happened to him. Seeing as he is a worthless ghost unconnected to you, and a criminal," Vlad placed the barrel of the gun on the ghost's forehead. He whimpered again. Vlad stared Danny dead in the eye, who glared fiercely back with glowing green eyes. "One..." Danny didn't drop her gaze. Vlad wasn't a murderer. At least, as far as she knew. He wouldn't kill a ghost. "Two..." She heaved in a big breath and could feel the ghost peering at her desperately, his eyes almost manic with fear. Vlad wasn't kidding. Then, something inside her turned. Something made her want to see this criminal's ghostly brains spill out. How dare he terrorise the innocent... He threatened the lives of innocent people and it was all part of Vlad's scheme anyway. Why should she care what happened to this pawn?
