A rough start - Matthew Espinosa

So close

 CHAPTER 8:

*Jamie’ P.O.V*

“WHO-OO WHO ARE YOU REALLY?” screams my alarm clock playing ‘Who are you really?’ by Mikky Ekko. I groan and roll out of bed and turn it off. It is 5:00am and Matt is coming over in 15 minutes and my mum is driving us to the airport to pick up Taylor. I am so tired so i’ll just get changed and tie my hair up and when we get back i’ll get showered and stuff. I go to my wardrobe and grab out my black and pink Taylor Caniff hoodie with a black singlet underneath and black nylon running tights. I brush my teeth and tie my wavy hair into a loose pony tail. I chuck on my pink Ugg boots and head downstairs. I see my mum on her computer, drinking her coffee, looking stressed as usual. 

“Good morning sweet heart” she said giving me a hug “Work just called, I have to fly to New York tomorrow morning and stay for the whole holidays since I am taking today off”

“Oh alright then” I said trying to hide the sadness in my voice. She is rarely home, luckily Matt lives down the road. He has been coming around a lot lately and my mum really likes him which is good. I was distracted from my thoughts when I heard the door bell ring.

“Hey” said a sleepy Matt giving me a hug

“Hey Matt” my mum said “Are you kids ready?”

“Yep” said Matt and I in unison. We hopped into the car and drove to the airport.

*Skipping drive to the airport*

It took about 15 minutes to drive to the airport. Taylor’s flight lands at 5:50am so Matt and I headed to a coffee shop at the airport while my mum stayed outside and was on the phone to work. We got Macadamia nut mochas at the coffee shop and sat down on a couch out the front of the arrivals bay.

“You know, you look really beautiful without make up on” Said Matt shyly. I could feel my face heat up.

“Thanks” I said looking down trying to hide my blush, but Matt tilted my head up to face his. We were looking into each others eyes and he started to lean in and I did the same. Our faces were millimeters apart when we heard Taylor scream.

“HE- uh what are you guys doing?” He said looking a bit awkward as he obviously knew what we were about to do.

“TAYLOR” Matt and I both screamed and we jumped up and gave him a hug.

“I’ve missed you so much” I whispered to Taylor. He smiled.

“I missed you too”

*Taylor’s P.O.V*

I just got off the plane and was walking into the arrivals bay when I spotted Matt and Jamie. I ran over but as I got closer I realized that they were about to kiss.

“HE- uh what are you guys doing?” I said not thinking. Jamie is going to stab me for interrupting.

“TAYLOR” Matt and Jamie both screamed and gave me hug.

“I’ve missed you so much” She whispered to me. I smiled. I really missed her too, it was so weird looking out my bedroom window and looking into a room occupied by someone who is not my best friend.

“I missed you too”

*Jamie’s P.O.V*

My mum came in shortly after and said hello to Taylor and gave him a hug. I looked over to Matt who smiled at me. I can’t believe we were so close to kissing again! Thanks Taylor!  We were heading out of the airport when a group of girl who looked about 14 ran up to the boys screaming. We stopped so the girls could get autographs and photos. A few of the girls even asked me for a photo. A few of them gave me dirty looks, but I was used to getting hate since I was in some vines and photos on Instagram with Matt and Taylor. We said our good byes to the girls and hopped into the car and drove home. On the way home we chatted about current events.

When we arrived home we took Taylor’s bags upstairs the boys laid on my bed and caught up while I went in to have a shower. I grabbed my bandeau paisley play suit and went into the bathroom for a long hot shower. 

*Matt’s P.O.V*

Jamie went to take a shower and I could tell that as soon as we could hear the shower running that I would be interrogated about what almost happened at the airport. I wanted to kiss Jamie so bad, she is perfect. Everything about her is perfect. I heard the  water start.

“Dude! What was happening at the airport?” Taylor whisper-yelled on que.

“I don’t know man! I just got caught up in the moment. She is just so perfect and I really like her” Shit did I say that last part out loud? Yep Damn it! I looked over to Taylor who looked like he was about to pee his pants.

“OH MY GOD! I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN! OH MY GOD! YOU HAVE TO ASK HER OUT!” Taylor practically yelled.

“KEEP YOUR VOICE DOWN” I whisper-yelled “I can’t dude, she will get so much hate, she already gets enough just from being friends with us”

Taylor agreed and we discussed the situation for about 10 minutes before Jamie walked out of the bathroom with her hair and make up done. She looked flawless.

“You look amazing” I said, slightly embarrassed that I just said that out loud.

“Wow, two compliments in one day! Your on a roll Espinosa” she said with grin and a slight blush.

Taylor winked at me and went in to have a shower. It was just me and Jamie laying on her bed. We took some selfies and chilled. I really wanted to lean over and kiss her, but I couldn’t. If I did I know I would fall hard for her, and the fact that I can’t make her mine would destroy me.
