Once a Wintry Night

Once a wintry night,
At the darkest hours of the year,
He had come into my sight,
And I summoned him near.

Once a wintry night,
He'd jumped in my room through the windows,
Held me in his arms so tight,
And said, "You're as fragile as the wind that blows."

Once a wintry night,
I replied, "Then caress me with gentle touches,
Be my moon tonight,
And I'll be your light that the sky anxiously searches."

Once a wintry night,
When all the lights were off, but his eyes,
Oh, it did give an eerie fright,
But he shielded me till the sun was to rise.

Once a wintry night,
The pleasures he'd given me were undeniable,
Though actions were wrong, everything felt right,
For my heart on his trust was reliable.

Once a wintry night,
Soft kisses were embedded on bare skins,
Other than the occasional notorious love bites,
Nothing, not even a single touch, felt as sin.

Once a wintry night,
We were closer than the oceans and the land,
So deep rooted was our love, it'd crossed all heights,
We both were surrendered under its command.

The painful pleasure our lips did recite,
But then the Sun and the Moon had a fight,
And triumphant, through my window came in the broad daylight,
Ending the reality of my dream, once a wintry night.
