Vanessa excitedly awaits for September 1st. She's so ready to go back to school, though she isn't all that excited to have to see Harry everyday.
September 1st arrives and she wakes up early, though she takes a bit to get out of bed. She had a lovely dream that has drifted from her mind, she is trying to remember it.
"Oi, Potter!" Draco exclaims from the doorway of her room. "If you'd rather we didn't miss the train you should get up now and get ready."
"Shove off. Malfoy, I'm up." She grumbles from the jumble of blankets and pillows she's buried under. Sleeping at Malfoy Manor has been heavenly. The bed she used feels like a cloud. If she could stay in it forever she wouldn't complain.
"I do hear the words coming from your mouth, but I'm having a hard time believing you. Be sure you grab breakfast." Draco turns and walks down the hall.
With a groan she gets out of the bed throwing on clothes and brushing out her hair. It's shinier and smoother than it had been than when she first arrived. Posh Draco insisted she used his hair care products instead of the cheap shampoo the Dursley's had oh so graciously supplied.
Part of her is a bit sad to be going back to school, only a small part though. Being here has been so lovely. Lucius had been mostly absent, but Narcissa, she had been absolutely wonderful. She clearly loves Draco so much and in turn the love had been extended to her. She had never known the love of a parent, but it had been nice to pretend like for once she had it.
After ensuring all of her things are properly packed into her chest and Nox is shut away in her cage, Vanessa skips down to the dining room. Some assorted plates of food rest on the table and she quickly grabs herself some fruit and a pastry before going to hunt down Draco.
She finds him in the library looking at the books.
"I do recall you boasting that you've never even read any of the books in here." She says in a teasing tone.
He scoffs and turns to look at her.
"Of course I was lying, you don't have high expectations to graduate top of class without doing some reading and studying."
"Why were you trying to impress with lying? Those dumb goons who follow you around?" She laughs softly.
"Crabbe and Goyle are not that bad." He steps away from the shelf he's standing at. "They let me talk about whatever I want."
"You do that anyway." She smiles. He rolls his eyes and starts out of the library, she quickly falls in line at his side.
"My mother will be taking us to the train. My father had some work to do." She nods as he talks about how they'll get to the platform. The conversation quickly moves to quidditch and how excited he'll be to join the team this year. She listens thoroughly. She may not be as into the game as he is, but his excitement makes her excited all the same.
Narcissa meets them in the foyer before they head out to catch the train. Once they start boarding a knot starts churning in her stomach. The thought of seeing Harry again fills her with anxiety. Deep brown she desperately misses her brother, but she fears they may be going down very different paths.
It scares her. What if those paths never converge... Could she live the rest of her life without her twin? Spending time away from him had given her more time to think and to miss him. She nearly wrote him letters at least a dozen times but every time she tried she would crumple the parchment.
They quickly found a compartment to sit in, Crabbe and Goyle were in it saving them a seat. She settled in the seat by the window watching out as the train pulls from the station. The door for their compartment is cracked.
