Jonathan's POV
I didn't know it would be couple of months! If only I knew it was the two of them I would gladly decline. Maybe I should suggest that Craig could be the only one teaching them? But I already accepted it. It would be a shame for having a second thought. Aurgh...
We went out first because the Principal would like to talk to the two.
We get back to our table and Brian is looking at us and wait for the news about what happened."The Principal wants the two of us to teach Evan and Tyler for a couple of months." I blurted. I saw Brian choke at his drink and cough a few times.
"*cough* are you *cough* serious?!" Brian said in disbelief, patting his chest.
"Does it sound not serious to you?" I irritatedly said. Craig just shake his head.
I slump back at the table and not feeling hungry anymore even though I barely touch my lunch.
"Well, I guess you and Craig have to bare to be with them for a couple of months."
I roll my eyes and Craig suddenly have this confuse look on his face.
"So we have to always go to their house??" Isn't it obvious for him?
"Uhh yeah? We don't have any problem with Evan because he's next to ours but for Tyler... his house was literally a mile from us." I explain to him. The two of us sigh and Brian just look at us then he suddenly got an idea.
"Why don't you guys choose one to teach so it doesn't have to be difficult on who's house you're going first." He suggested.
"That's kind of a great idea.." Craig agreed to him. The two of them look at me, waiting for my desicion. I sigh and answer, "Fine."
They smile and a minute later the bell ring. We stood up and left the cafeteria. Ryan didn't show up at lunch. I wish he's okay.
Me and Craig went to our class and Brian did the same. We bid our goodbyes as we walk to different halls. We arrive just in time that the prof was just greeting everyone 'good afternoon'. We sat quietly and I recognize that Evan was still not here.
'Maybe he's still talking with the Principal along with Tyler.' I thought and a few minutes later, the door swung open and there he was, entering the room with his expressionless face he always put on at school. He didn't greeted the Prof or even bother to apologize, he just walk straight to his seat beside me and didn't say a word. I saw our Prof rolled his eyes and ignore Evan's attitude and continue with his teaching. I didn't know I was staring at him too much when he suddenly look back at me. We stayed like that for 10 seconds until he look away. I feel kinda sad all of a suddenly when he look away. Wait what? I frown. What am I thinking?! I shake away the feeling and focus on the lesson on the board.
The period ended and now it's the last class that I have to bear with. Luke was now next to me, talking to me actually, but I still keep my distance to him. He may now have notice it because he ask me the question I don't want to hear.
"Jonny, why are you suddenly avoiding me? Usually you're the one who starts a conversation but now you don't. You're not even looking at me in the eye right now." He spoke. Waiting for my answer.
'What should I say? That I'm awkward to him because my best friend said that you might have like me even though he doesn't have any evidence and that I would know that you only like me as a friend and it's only in my head?' I thought to myself as I think of any other answer but none came.
I just sat there looking at my desk. Not making an eye contact. He sigh. Considering that he won't get any answer to me.
"Okay. If anything is bothering you, I'm here alright? I'll always be by your side." He said, then never speak till the end of the class. I feel guilty for not saying the truth to him but it's so awkward to ask. It's like confessing to someone that you really adore them and that you wanted to live the rest of your life with them. But mine is different, I'm the one who will ask if he like me or not.
