Jonathan's POV

Me, Brock, Marcel and Craig are watching intently on Evan, Luke, Tyler, David and Lui as they practice in the court.

[A/N: The reason why Brock and Marcel are only watching is because they are a player of a different game. Brock was a volleyball player while Marcel's a Track n' Field player. The other five are in Basketball. I want them all to be a basketball player but it only needs 5 players so I have to Eliminate 2 people in the gang. T-T]

We are sitting on a bleacher placed on the side of the court. Brian cannot make it because he have something to attend to while Ryan have a surprised project that was due 2 days later.

We watch as they try to steal the ball to one another to get a point. They have this competition on which whoever gets the most points within 30 mins is the winner.

Right now, Evan, Tyler and Luke are tied into 24 points while David and Lui are tied in 18 points.

There are also other people watching, mostly girls who keeps cheering on their favorite player.

Now, Evan and Luke are the only one that's tied. Tyler was down by 4 points. The ball was on Luke's hand and he flexibly escaped from David and move on a three point place and once he found the right angle he released the ball, ready to be shoot but a hand grab the ball while in the air and dunk it. Stealing the points. I saw Evan smirked and the crowd squeals. I looked at Luke and he have this pissed look on his face as he glare at Evan who sticked his tongue out to tease him more. Luke cannot do anything but shake his head and pass on.

The game was intense. Evan and Luke keep on stealing balls from each other and sometimes the other three would sneak up on them and earn their own points.

I want to cheer for him but I know he wouldn't hear me among these crowds so I just silently watch and clap when he receive a point. My friends on the other hand keeps on yelling and cheering, I don't know how they aren't yet out of voice. Especially Craig and Marcel.

"Beat their ass Tyler!" Craig cheered.

"Go Luke! Go Evan!" Marcel exchange cheers whoever has the leading points.

Brock would sometimes cheer but minimize it.

I continue on watching and now Lui has the ball. Since he's the smallest, he was slippery to catch and he can escape easily. He was about to run pass David but he tripped on David's foot which is unconsciously in the way. We heared Lui yell in pain while holding his right foot. The other players gather around him and we ran to check on him.

David and Tyler helped Lui up and sit him.

"Lui, I'm so so sorry. I didn't mean to trip you! I-I was just---" David tried to explain but Lui cut him off and smile.

"Don't worry. It's fine. It's just a sprain." Lui said but quickly wince and hold it.

I look at his foot and it started to form a bluish purple color around it.

"Uhm, I think it isn't just a sprain. Maybe you should get a doctor check on it." I suggest. Lui's eyes widen and he furiously shake his head.

"I don't need a doctor to check on me! See? I'm fiIIIAAAHHH!" He tried to stand up but quickly fall down. Luckily, David catch him just in time before he hit the ground. Once again, he wince and hold it.

"Maybe you should listen to what Jonathan said." Evan said. Lui just sigh and nodded. David carry him up to his car and we did the same as I enter Evan's car.

We arrived and the doctor quickly check up on Lui's foot. They made us wait outside until they're finish. We saw the doctor exited the room and approach us.

"Your friend was okay now. I give him some pills to relax his muscles and blood stability. But I have bad news." The doctor said. We look at him worriedly.

"What is it?" David asked.

"His sudden twist of ankle made his joint stressed and tearing his ligaments badly. We need to put up some cement on it and he have to rest for two weeks." The doctor announced.

"Two weeks?!" They said in unison except Craig and I.

Why?

The doctor nodded and let us in the room where Lui is at and left to give us privacy.

"Hi." Lui greeted in his squeaker voice.

We greeted back but there's these awkward silence building inside the room. Lui frowned at the sudden noiseless. Evan was the one that have the courage telling Lui the news.

"The doctor said your foot needs to be cement and you need to rest for two weeks."

"TWO WEEKS?!" Lui exclaimed and his expression was the same like the others before.

What is it with two weeks?

"I can't rest in two weeks! The championship will start next week!"

Oh.

"We know but you don't have a choice. That's what the doctor said so you should follow." David replied to him. He just sulk and cross his arms.

"I'm sorry again Lui. This is all my fault." David apologized. Lui look up to him and grabbed his hand since he's next to him.

"No. It's not your fault. I'm not looking where I'm going and besides, it already happened." Lui said and smiled at him. He may have convinced him since David finally smile.

"Well I guess we can't join since we miss one player." Tyler blurted.

They all became sad. I think of something and an idea came in my mind.

Unless there's someone that would substitute him.

"I-I know someone who can replace Lui in the mean time." I said. Everyone in the room look at me.

"Oh yeah? Is he good?" David asked. I smiled and nodded my head.

"Yep. Better than you." I answered. That guy may not look like playing basketball but behind those blank stares and silence, he has skills.

"Well then, who is he?" Evan said curiously.

"Someone who always stays at the back of the room and barely talks to anyone. He always have this cold atmosphere around him and always hold a book." I described. I give them time to think and the first one to react was Marcel.

"No way!" He yelled. Soon everyone realized who it is and look at me in disbelief.

"Really?"

"Are you serious?"

"That guy? That. Guy?"

They asked continuously. I shushed them and thank god they quiet down.

"Yes, I'm serious and I guess you're all thinking the same person."

They nodded in unison.

"But there's a problem." I said and I saw some of them frown while the others are confused.

"What is it?" Craig asked. I sigh and bit my lip.

"He's not easy to be convinced. You need a LOT of patience and skills in persuasion to make him say yes."

Tyler scoff.

"Psh. It sounds simple. How hard could it be?" He said while crossing his arms. I rolled my eyes at him and answer, "you'll see."
