A Lonely Heart

A lonely Heart
All my life I have been the outcast
I studied, prayed and worked very hard
But these efforts never last
I have excelled in most things
And oh how my heart sings
But no one cared or appreciated me
Yet you whispered in my ears "I love you!"

I did all I could to make my parents proud
I tried and tried and tried
But their "I don't care" came over very loud
But with you Lord, I can be me
You, God alone saw in me what no one else cared to see
You were my friend
When I thought I was at the end.

You were my love
You held my hand when everyone turned away
You lifted m head and told me You were there to stay
When I felt lost and lonely and blue
You turned me to You and told me to trust only You.

Now I sit here alone but not lonely anymore
Because You are here with me, the One whom I adore
Lord all my life I lay in your hand
You are my God and for my life only You have the master plan.
So now I don't cry and live in the gray
Because You God, have my best interest at heart all the way.

I rest in You secured and true
Because my best friend, My Maker and husband chases away the blue
I trust You Lord, my heart does say
And I know God that You are with me all the way.
