My Heart's Prayer
Dear Lord though I have sinned and failed you a lot of times
When I came to you crying you never once denied me
I know I do not deserve your love mercy and grace
But through Jesus Christ this is possible, He died for the sins of the human race.
Lord I humbly bow my knees to you,
As I want to stay really close to you.
The devil seeks to sift me like wheat
And then laugh when I fail, you see, I give him a good treat.
So now to you I humbly cry
Lord cleanse and save me or I will die
No sin I commit will unpunished be
So Lord I accept it knowing you will never leave me.
Oh Lord, keep me from the crooked, to go straight
That I can enter through the narrow gate
Sin and wrong will never agree
For these are not company to keep is true
During my daily walk with you.
Sanctify my heart, my spirit and souls
As on your word I feed just to be made whole.
Thank you Lord for Jesus Christ your son
For once again, through him, this victory is won!
