I seductively swayed my hips to the music, occasionally hitting a few people with my hip bones, which earned me a few aroused looks from the men that surrounded me.
If I looked directly to my right, I could see my best friend Lucy Anderson chatting up some hunky guy near the brightly lit bar, which was overfilled with empty glasses from the intoxicated crowd that surrounded me.
Lucy was, and definitely still is, an attractive girl.
She could have any guy wrapped around her finger with one look. She's very beguiling.
If I looked to my left, I could see my other best friend Zach Collins dancing with me, looking for any girl that he labels as 'fuck worthy' or 'shaggable'...not that he was going to get lucky tonight; the club was mostly full of sweaty men.
"Fancy another round, B?" He yelled above the music, crouching to be my height. "You know me to well!" I replied, already intoxicated enough, but too much to know when to stop. Zach grabbed my hand and pulled me through the crowd, ordering another round of Washington Apple's.
I squirmed, reluctant to feel the sour, red liquid slither down my throat and into my stomach, making me feel warm and inside.
Go home Becky, go home.
I was suddenly whirled around by who seemed to be Lucy, making my head feel like a carousel; spinning and not stopping. I felt week at the knees, and my legs started to give in.
I half expected to feel my body slam against the sticky, dirty floor, but instead I felt myself being held up by my arms.
"Let's get you home B, you've had enough to drink tonight" I heard Lucy say.
I've always been a bit of a light weight.
"No..Lucy I can stay...I don't want to go home yet...I'm not that drunk.." I slurred
...Or so I thought.
"No, B, it's time to go home" Zach chimed in, as we left the club. The cold air instantly hit my bare legs, making my thighs tense up. Before I knew it, I was put into a taxi with Lucy, and Zach informed the driver of our destination before slamming the door shut.
I let my head fall onto Lucy's shoulder, earning a drunken smile from her, as she kissed my forehead. "Oh B...you're always the first one to fall..literally" she chuckles, as the smell of sour apple schnapps surrounds me.
I was escorted out of the taxi by Lucy, who took me to my apartment.
After 20 minutes of tackling the slippy, grey metal stairs, we were finally stood outside of my door. Lucy took out her spare key, unlocking my door, and helping me in.
"Time for bed, B" she says, as she carries me into my bedroom.
Oh how I'll regret this in the morning...
Lucy then proceeds to undress me into my underwear, and she tucks me into bed. Without hesitating, she climbs in next to me.
"Cuddle.." I groan, as she wraps her arms around me.
...This isn't new to me, this is how most of my nights end.
As I feel Lucy's alcohol ridden breath tickle my neck, I close my eyes, instantly falling asleep...only having a little time to rest before I regret everything I was entangled in that night.
My eyes flutter open, after being abruptly awoken by the sound of Lucy's voice.
"I already told you, we're over Dominic! Leave me alone!" she groans
Dominic is her asshole of an ex-boyfriend who cheated on her pretty much every night when they were together.
I groan. Hangover level: off the scale.
My breath hitches as a small box hits my chest "Aspirin, take it" Lucy says, placing a half-pint of water on my bed side table. I stay silent, beginning to close my eyes again, just wanting to sleep it all off.
Lucy bangs on my wall, making me nearly jump out of my skin "No B, you can not just sleep it off. Wake up. We're going out"
Just what I need. Thanks Lucy...
I sigh and sit up, grasping the box of Aspirin and taking the two capsules as if my life depends on it. "Where we going?" I grunt, earning a reassuring look from the tall blonde.
"For food" she says, before quickly running a comb through her hair and throwing on one of my sweaters and a pair of my blue jeans.
"Nowhere fancy, please.." I beg, as I stand up, finally being able to regain my balance. She sniggers "Take you, anywhere fancy? No way, B"
"Haha, very funny" I roll my eyes, and head into the bathroom. I splash my face with freezing water, forcing my eyes to open fully and assuring that I'm aware of the horrible reality that is, my life.
After brushing my teeth and combing my hair, I head out the door with Lucy, now dressed in my 'I can't be arsed' hoodie and a pair of black leggings. I tie my hair in a messy bun, as we head towards the stairs.
"You have no clue how funny it was trying to get you up these stairs last night, B" Lucy laughs as we reach the exit of the apartment blocks. I sigh, just shrugging it off.
We're greeted by Zach, who thought it would be hilarious to jump round the corner as we walked past.
"Jesus Fuck Zach, don't do that" Lucy squeals, her voice almost breaking. He chuckles "How did light weight here cope last night?" Zach smirks. I rolls my eyes only slightly, not enough for him to notice.
"Well the stairs were a chore, but otherwise fine" she nods "So then...where is it you both want to go to eat?" she says, signalling a taxi with her hand.
"How about going to-"
"Frankie and Benny's" they both interrupt, at exactly the same time "We kind already knew that's what you'd say.." Zach chuckles.
"Well then, let's go!" I say, excitedly.
Well, as excitedly as you can say anything with a strong hangover...
Lucy laughs, directing the driver to the town square.
"You having Pasta little one?" Zach smiles, looking at me.
"Of course" I nod, a giddy grin on my face, as the taxi pulls up outside the town square.
