when i entered the junkyard, jack didn't notice me until i got closer. he was staring at the sky with his old childhood toy plane in hand. as soon as he saw me he got up with a worried look. after i explained, he hugged me. jack had hugged me plenty of times before but this one felt special, and i loved it. i went to take a nap in my car and i thought: i went through all that trouble just to see millie. what's so interesting about her? why do i care so much? i got beat up just because i wanted to see her.
but then i thought again, this wasn't her fault. she had no idea i got beat up, and she had no idea it would happen. why would i blame an innocent person when quite frankly, i did it to myself?

i woke up to jack banging on the jeep door glass. i asked him,"why'd you wake me?"
he answered,"you've been asleep for four hours, you'll never get to sleep tonight."
i messed with his hair,"thanks for looking out for me, dude."
he smiled,"anything for my brother."
i smiled and changed the subject,"when does sadie get home?"
"everyday around seven," jack answered settle.
i looked at my watch and it read 12:39.
"6 and a half hours!" i laughed.

hours passed, i rode bikes with jack, we built a little house with car hoods and planks of wood. it was pretty nice when we decorated it with flowers and engraved finn w. and jack g.'s too cool house.
after we engraved it, jack came up with a brilliant idea. he stated,"what if we all kept our last names but added a different name on the back of it to show our connection. like- let's say- you're finn wolfhard-smith. so that would make me jack grazer-smith."
my eyes widened,"that's awesome jack. i love that idea! we just need a good name that fits all of our last names."
the junkyard went silent by then jack spoke,"what about gatrine?"
"it's cool and all but we need a name that people might not recognize."
then i spoke again,"what about famhon? i mixed family and home together."
jack went through,"joe keery-famhon. sadie sink-famhon. finn wolfhard-famhon. jack grazer-famhon. i love it, finn, it's perfect."

by the time we figured out our name, sadie was home and we explained to her what was going on. she was silent, but she approved. then we waited until 11:00pm to tell joe. he approved also and loved the idea. jack was obviously proud of himself.
