Chapter 22

He was treating me as if I was a ghost and that he was unaware of my presence because he didn’t have a third eye. Can you believe that? He wasn’t ignoring me because ignoring means he knew I was there and he wasn’t just paying attention. He just simply treated me as if I didn’t exist.

Adam looked busy. He was multi-tasking something in his macbook, cellphone and ipad. It seemed like it was something business related because he sometimes would pause in typing then his eyebrows would furrow as if he was thinking deep.

His eyes was moving swiftly from the screen of one gadget to another while his fingers were busy typing. His cellphone rang a few times and I observed he wasn’t polite. Ang una nyang sasabihin ay McKnight at pagkatapos nyan ay puro na ‘do this ASAP’, ‘get the summary ASAP’, ‘call him NOW’, ‘I want your report NOW’, ‘change everything NOW’, ‘fucking give me the best plan or I’ll fire you NOW.’

Like I said, he treated me as if didn’t exist. He didn’t give me even a millisecond glance from where he was sitting in a huge black oversized seat with a glass table in front while I was sitting across in a long L-shaped beige sofa.

Yes, you heard it right. And it wasn’t just that. His plane was divided into two compartments. It was the second compartment that was jaw-dropping. The sofa was part of the cabin lounge with huge plasma TV across and center table in between, may six sitter dining table, at may isang bedroom na may shower at comfort room. Everything was in white, beige, brown or black. It was like small version bachelor pad inside a plane.

You know, predator sya at ako ang prey.

The stewardess continued walking across the lounge with a sway of her hips in every step. Teka, ganyan ba dapat lumakad ang isang flight attendant? Parang beauty queen na rumarampa sa stage? Parang hindi.

Sinundan ko ang tingin nya. Her eyes were glued to where I had been looking for the past hours.

“Grilled shrimps and vegetables with pearl couscous and seafood lasagna and shrimp ceviche with your favorite wine, Domaine Ramonet Grand.”

Please scratch what I said. SERIOUSLY? “Adam, how many times do I have to tell you to call me Olivia when I’m at work,” she purred na parang pusang nalilibog at sumilay ang ngiti sa mukha ni Adam.
