ANNIE'S POV
I slowly got up and walked towards my mom and Hayley. Both of their mouths basically dropped to the ground.
AM-Annie's mom H$-Hayley
H$-Annie! *hugs annie*
A-Hey Haybug.
H$-I missed you so much!
A-I missed you too! You've grown so much!
H$-Who's that? *points at hayden*
A-Oh. That's my boyfriend Hayden.
H-Nice to meet you Hayley.
H$-Nice to meet you too!
AM-Um Hayley would you mind going in your room for a little bit?
H$-But why?!
AM-I need to talk with Annie.
H$-Fine. *walks to her room*
AM-Caleb, how about you show Hayden around. Maybe hang out with him, get to know him a little.
C-Sure. *walks out of the room with hayden following him*
There was a few minutes of silence until my mom broke it.
AM-What are you doing here? You're supposed to be with your dad. You're supposed to not know we're here.
A-Well I found out anyway, and I needed answers!
AM-Annie, you really need to leave. You aren't allowed to be here.
A-Wow so you see your daughter for the first time in god knows how long, and all you say is leave? Not even a "hello, how are you?"
AM-Annie, I'm serious.
A-And I'm serious too! Can you at least answer one question?
AM-Fine. But you MUST leave right after. Promise?
A-Promise.
AM-Okay, what's your question?
A-Why did you and dad s-split up?
AM-...
A-Mom, I'm 16. I'm old enough to know the truth. I already found out most of it, why not just tell me the whole story?
AM-I'm sorry Annie, but I-I can't.
A-You said you would answer my question.
AM-Well right now I think you should just leave.
A-I'm not leaving until you answer my question.
Then Caleb walks back into the room with Hayden following behind. They were probably eavesdropping.
C-Mom, just tell her...
AM-I can't! Now get out of this house now!
I stand there with a blank expression on my face. Then, my mom starts pushing me and Hayden out the door. She slams the door in our face and locks it. I feel a tear starting to roll down my cheek. Hayden notices, and pulls me into a hug. I can't believe what just happened. My mom wasn't like this 4 years ago.
