Draco absentmindedly ran his hand through Harry's long hair as the brunette slept against Draco's chest. They sat on the beach, on the far side of the Black Lake on a Sunday afternoon with their homework scattered around them. While Draco was distracted with his Charms paper, he barley noticed Harry muttering in his sleep. Draco felt the boy start to squirm as the muttering grew louder, "Harry?" Harry's eyes shot open as he began screaming, "Harry! Calm down! It was just a dream."

Harry felt like his heart was going a mile a minute and he was having trouble breathing. He was disoriented, but could feel Draco rubbing comforting circles on his back.

"Harry? Are you okay?" Draco whispered.

Harry nodded, "Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

"Since when are you having nightmares again?"

Harry stared at his feet, "Well... they didn't exactly go away, entirely."

"Harry James Potter!" Draco yelled, "You told me they went away."

Harry shrugged, "I lied?"

Draco sighed, "You should have told me, I could have helped."

"How, Drake? It's not like you can make all the shit in my head stop."

Draco thought, "When is it better? Like, when are they less... frequent?"

"When I'm with you, I guess. That's normally when I'm the most calm, when I'm not focused on the giant shit-storm that's about to hit us."

Draco felt his face heat up,"Glad to be of service." His smile faded, "Um...Speaking of which," Draco massaged the back of his neck nervously, "I spoke with my mother."

Harry tensed up and pretended to go over his History of Magic notes, "Oh, what did she want?"

"Come on, don't be like that." Draco begged.

"Like what? I'm not acting any differently than I normally do when we discuss your family."

Draco sighed, "I know that it's a sore subject, but it's going to come up."

Harry nodded, "So, what did she want?"

"I wrote to her about a week ago and explained that I wouldn't be home and that I didn't blame her for anything, but that it was something I needed to do for me. I also, basically gave up my claim to the Malfoy family."

"Wow, what did she say?"

"She understood, and made peace with my decisions."

Harry raised his eyebrows, "Just like that? She understood?" he asked in disbelief.

"Yeah, she did."

"Well, I suppose I can no longer hate everyone in your family." Harry said with a hint on reluctance in his voice.

"Good," Draco kissed Harry's forehead, "Now, we have to get you ready for your potions final."

Harry rolled his eyes as Draco dropped a potions book in his lap, "Fine, but you owe me."

Draco smirked seductively in Harry's direction, "How about I apologize for making you study later tonight?"

"I'll hold you to that."

Harry flopped down on his bed later that evening just before dinner. He tossed his books to the floor and removed his glasses.

Dean looked up from his homework, "Hey, Harry, long day?"

Harry laughed, "Yeah, I've been cramming for that potions final."
