After Cherry and her sister leave me, I decide to go to bed early so I can make it to class early tomorrow. Some of my teachers haven't been too happy about me missing so much school. Like my Science teacher. So I'm going to pay her a visit early this morning. I go to sleep and actually fall asleep without trouble for once in so long. When I wake up, Ava is still not here. I shrug it off and get ready. It's only 5:30 but the teachers are already there today. I walk to the building to see my Math teacher, carrying a bunch of bags. I run up to her as she drops her key. I pick it up, unlock the door, hold it open, and then take all ten of her bags.
"You don't have to do that, Phoebe." she says as we walk down the halls together. "It's alright. I like helping people." "You remind me so much of your mother, dear." I smile. "Thank you, Mrs. Tully." "Please, you can call me Cara when we're not in class." I smile again. "You can set them right next to my desk, Phoebe." she says after unlocking the door. I do so and turn to leave. "You can stay here for a little bit." "I came early to talk to Miss HorseGarden. But thank you. Cara." "Okay sweetie, just remember you're welcome in my room anytime." I turn around. And suddenly I feel myself hugging her. I can't remember the last time I hugged someone. I let go, probably a little too late and leave. "See you in class." I yell.
I walk to Mrs. HorseGarden's room. I knock on the door. No answer. I push it open. Then I scream. Her body is in front of the blackboard, puddle of blood on the floor. Mrs. Tully runs to me. "What's wrong, Ph-" She pulls me into the hallway. "Come on." Shaking, we walk to the principle's office. He calls the police. While waiting, they go to the back to talk. But they leave the door cracked open. "I don't know what we should do about all this murder. We might have to cancel classes until it's solved. Or close the school." "Poor Phoebe keeps finding the bodies." "They're gonna put her on the suspect list, Cara." I freeze. "Suspect list?" I mumble. Then they're silent. Before coming back out, they whisper for awhile. I couldn't hear anything though.
"The police are here, i'm sure they'd like to question you two." the principle says, leading us to the door. I walk up to them, head to the ground. "Phoebe Adams..." I look up at them, sick to my stomach. "As a precaution. And since you've been finding the bodies..." One of them handcuffs me. "B-but I d-didn't d-do any...thing." "It's okay, we're not saying you did. But so far you're our only suspect and we have to do this." "Is she going to be arrested?" Mrs. Tully asks. "No. Not yet at least. Our orders are just to cuff her and take you two back to the station." My body is shaking badly now. "Please calm down, Miss Adams." one of them tells me, putting his hand on my shoulder. "It's alright, Phoebe. We're just gonna be questioned." Mrs. Tully tries to calm me down. Then I burst into tears.
