Creed had just walked Song back to her house and began to head to the SSS. The idea of using the Shadowhunter weapons was not nearly as dangerous as using the Master Light Elements. Song had wonderful ideas, but sometimes it worried Creed that she had little fear for danger. That's why he knew he had to be her balance. She would run into a collapsing building and accept death instead of trying to save the life let among the ruins.
But the real question that plagued his mind was would this force be enough. Honestly, he did not like the idea of fighting Onyx's parents, something seemed off about the entire situation. Creed was deep in thought, when it hit him: professional Shadowhunters, who are surrounded by Shadows day and night, all of a sudden becoming infected. Something didn't seem right. His hunter instincts were telling him. He could feel his amulet pulsating, his hunter instincts are trying to tell him something. He had to make a move. Lost in thought, he quickly arrived to the tunnel entrance of the SSS and checked in. He was met by the leaders of the SSS that briefed him a couple nights ago.
"Did you find anything out?" The woman asked Creed.
"No, not yet, but something seems off. Unfortunately, I can't put a name on it," he replied.
"Yes, my hunter instincts seem to be telling me something too, but oddly enough I don't know what it is," the old man acknowledged.
"Why- no how do two professional Shadowhunters who guard the Gate and fight Shadows constantly, get infected? That just is not making sense!" Creed exclaimed. "It's almost like they allowed it to happen," he whispered.
"No, they wouldn't, Creed you should know better," the woman sharply replied before walking away with the old man. The pair was clearly frustrated. So he decided to drop the topic and focus his attention to the problem.
Creed decided to clear his head and walk through the Memorial of Fallen Hunters, for a sense of peace. He took his time and paid respect to the fallen hunters. He sighed, but as he looked closely, he saw amulets, pictures of the fallen, tombstone, but no Shadowhunter weapons. His hunter instincts went into overdrive. And he immediately left and decided to go to Song's house.
It didn't take long for him to reach her house and he began knocking on the door frantically.
"First thing, why are you trying to break down the door? Two, I didn't expect you to be back so soon." Song said.
"Well, my hunter instincts are going crazy. How did the Guardians of the Gate become infected? They work with Shadows all the time!" Creed walked inside.
"Creed, calm down. Look at yourself, you're all worked up," Song looked into his wide eyes. She continued, "Well, everyone makes mistakes, so what are you saying?"
"Song, I don't know, but something seems off, I don't know what it is. I don't know why it is, but something is wrong. I feel it, my hunter instincts are running a million miles an hour. I sound stupid don't I?" He asked, sighing.
"No, not yet all least," she smiled lightly as she put her hand on his shoulder. "Okay, what are all the flags, everything that makes you think that something is off."
Creed took a deep breath, "Alright, first thing is Capital Q. They left the Gate to make a raid, that was deemed unsuccessful, leading to them being outlawed. Why would they leave the Gate, knowing that it was weak? Both of them? Secondly, how do you get infected on your job, like that? They have been the Guardians for over twenty years, they should know the tricks in the book! Third, and I haven't told anyone this yet, but today at the SSS, most of the Shadowhunter weapons that reside in the Memorial are gone. It's like someone is on the same page as us. Now is that someone on our side or not? That's the real question."
