Creed laid his head on top of Song's and could feel her peaceful energy as she slept. For having such a traumatic experience, she was collected, as usual. He remembered walking in through the door and sensing a strange energy. Song looked over the stairs calling down to him, "Creed, I need your help."

"Okay sure, is something wrong?"

"Just come up here," she replied.

He could sense the alarm in her tone, although she was well composed. Creed quickly went up the stairs and into Song's room. His eyes widen in disbelief when he saw all of the blood. He recognized the woman, who had a pool of blood coming from her nose and her back as she lay unconscious. Mr. Valor's wounds were not as bad, but he was unconscious too.

"What happened?" He asked her.

"That woman attacked me in my sleep, we fought for a while before my dad came in. She cut him with her dagger, and it seemed like it was changing him. I used my mother's throwing knives and stabbed her in the back. It was strange because her amulet cleared up after I stabbed her. Then I had to do the same to him. He was not completely gone, but I couldn't take the chance." A tear slipped her eye.

Creed grabbed her by the shoulders and held her body close to his. He felt guilty that he was not there. He ran his fingers through her jet black hair, before bringing her face close to his, "I'm sorry."

"You're here now," she whispered.

"We can't take them out because it's about 9 now. So let's wrap your dad's wounds. As soon as the Shadows are gone, we'll take them to a hospital." Creed instructed. The pair worked diligently together, until the Shadows subsided for the night.

Creed's mind was brought back the present, as he felt Song stir near him. He lifted his head, as she lifted hers.

"What's wrong?" She asked him.

"Nothing," he replied.

"You keep sighing, what's on your mind?"

"Do you know who that woman was?" Creed asked.

"No, but she seemed to have known me. She called me by my name before going unconscious." She replied.

"That woman is Onyx's mother, I haven't told him because we didn't really have time. We just happened to run into Kai, which turned out to be useful. But I don't know what's going to happen once he finds out. You did the right thing, she was probably after your mother's throwing knives because they are Shadowhunter weapons, but-"

"Onyx may not see it that way. I understand." Song finished his sentence.

"I'm debating on whether or not to report this to the SSS."

"Do what you feel is right, I always want you to do that," she looked into those familiar gray eyes and smiled lightly.

"I will. I think I need to tell them because it explains why the nightguard was found yesterday with black wounds covering his body. He too was unconscious. The SSS leader decided to keep him in confinement because his body is too weak to even attempt a mind war." He explained.

Creed felt Song's hand lightly brush his and he held it. She buried her face in his chest and took a deep breath, "Thank you for everything."

Their eyes met as Creed closed the space between them.

The pair heard coughing in the background and they looked over to see Kai pretending to puke, as he moved his legs. "Really, I wake to talking, look over and my friends are almost kissing!" Kai laughed, before continuing, "Well, I guess that's my cue to go. Let me know how everything goes and Song stay strong you're my best friend," he placed his hand on her shoulder before leaving.

When Kai left, Creed gently kissed Song's hair, before she pulled away and said, "I think one of us should tell Onyx about his mother."

"Then I'll tell him," Creed volunteered.

"Alright, I would go with you, but I need to stay with my dad," Song replied.

"Trust me, I understand completely. I'll bring Onyx here to see her. Do they have food here, I'm kinda hungry."

"At like 2 in the morning?" Song raised her eyebrows. Creed nodded. "Well, I'll go and get us something to eat, I'll be right back." She stood up and walked out the room. Creed laid his head back on the wall and sighed. When he looked again, Mr. Valor had opened his eyes.

"How are you feeling?" Creed walked over to his bed.

"To be honest, I feel completely fine. I'm a little tired, but I don't feel like I need to be here." He replied to Creed.

"I'm glad to know, that you're okay. Song and I were worried about about you." Creed gently pulled at the bandage to take a peek at the wound. To his utter amazement, it was nearly healed. "Wow, it looks like nothing even happened."

"How long was I out?" Mr. Valor asked raising his eyebrows, just like Song does.

"Well, I got to your house a little before nine and from what Song told me the whole situation transpired a little after eight." Creed answered.

"Oh yeah, I remember everything. Is Song alright?" He tried to sit up quickly.

"She was really worried, but she's okay. Song's here, but she went to get us something to eat." Creed replied.

"That woman, if I am not mistaken she was the friend of my wife and the mother of one of Song's friends. After my wife passed, we didn't really stay in touch. I let Song play with their son, but I kept my distance. She had a dagger and was trying to harm my child, I nearly killed her with my bear hands. But, I'm glad that I didn't. Well, son you have proved yourself. I can honestly say that I trust you, and I'm grateful to you." Mr. Valor's words touched Creed and made him miss his own father.

"No, I'm grateful to you, for being my friend and a father figure to me, since I lost my own father."

"I'll always be a friend and father figure for you as long as I live," he whispered.

"Dad! You're up!" Song shouted and ran to him. Creed moved out of her way, Song embraced her father. "I'm glad you're okay."

"Same here, I would never let anyone hurt you, my little gem. Are you okay?" Her father asked.

Song nodded, "I'm even better knowing that you're doing better." She looked over to Creed and passed him some yogurt and crackers.

"Thanks, I'll be right back." He said opening the yogurt.

"Okay, be safe," Song embraced him. He held her for a moment and inhaled the gentle smell of vanilla that came off of her hair before letting her go. He waved at the Valor's as he left. Walking through the hospital halls on the way out, he reflected on the fact that Mr. Valor said that he trusted him. Creed vowed to himself that he would work to always be worthy of his trust. He was not sure what was going to go down when he tells Onyx about his mother, but knowing the Guardian's son too well, he was prepared for the worst.
