Chapter Four

Irmina's POV

Today, we didn't have an expedition or anything else to do for that matter. Basically, we had a day off. I dressed in an orange button-up shirt, brown leggings and tan low cut boots. I wanted to visit my home in Yalkell District of Wall Rose.

I walked out of my room after I was done changing, walking out of the barracks and onto my horse.

Levi's POV

I drank the last drop of my tea, wiping it clean before setting it into the cupboards. I opened the door to my office to leave and go see what Hanji was up to now. What passed by me stopped me from opening the door any further. I stared in disbelief, and then blinked several times. I stared at the figure again, my heart falling to my stomach. That outfit reminded me of Isabel.

"Tch." I shook my head.

I won't regret it. I won't let myself.

I headed to Hanji's office where books were neatly tucked into the bookshelves. Unfortunately, they were dusty as hell. But I won't do her the favor of dusting it off.

"Hanji."

"Whoa-aa-aah!" Hanji fell from the ladder, the book she intended to grab falling onto her chest. "Ow..." she rubbed the back of her head, coughing as she did because the book created a cloud of dust when it landed.

"That's what you get when you don't clean your books. Now get up." Hanji got back onto her feet, dusting herself off and picking up the book.

"You know that thing attached to your arm? The thing that's called a hand?" I stared blankly at her which told her to hurry up and get to the point. "Use it and knock on the damn door!"

"What's in the book?" I ignored her complains. I grabbed a chair, and crossed my arms then my leg over as I sat down.

"I'm trying to find out if titans have ever been found having sex." I furrowed my brows at her response. They can't.

"What? You know it's not possible." She really is messed up...

"Yeah, I've never seen it, but someone before me might have. So far I can't find anything. We still don't have a lead on how the titans reproduce. If they even can." She sat down at her desk, closely examining each and every word her eyes fall upon in the book.

"Let me know if you find anything." She waved me off with her hand, not once averting her eyes from the book. I shrugged it off internally, pushing her door open.

Irmina's POV

"Mother, Father! I'm home!" I saw Mother turn her head from the dishwasher, dropping the glass plate as soon as she realized who had just walked in. She quickly turned off the faucet, then dried her hands on her apron as she made her way over to me with tear-filled eyes.

She opened her arms and enveloped me in a welcoming hug. I wrapped my arms around her as well.

"Mina..." Her voice shook. She was crying.

"I'm home, Mother." I smiled against her shoulder. I haven't seen her since I joined the Training Corps. I heard footsteps from the stairs, and I pulled away from Mother, excited to see Father. Instead, my happiness was drowned away with confusion and sadness.
