Chapter Ten

Irmina's POV

I opened my eyes and saw Captain Levi sleeping with his head leaning on his desk.

How can he sleep like that?

A strand of hair fell over his face which made him look so young and innocent.

I couldn't help but stare at the Captain Levi I saw before me. He was vulnerable. He wasn't Humanity's Strongest Soldier right now. He was just a man who was dreaming.

Look at him. I sure am.

He made me want to go back to sleep. But before that could happen, I lifted myself up from the bed and stretched my arms out. But immediately, I hugged myself from how cold it is this morning.

I touched Captain Levi's arm and felt that it was freezing.

How the hell is he able to sleep like that?!

I pulled the thin blanket off the bed and covered his shoulders with it.

He furrowed his eyebrows and opened his eyes. Our eyes locked, and I stood in shock.

He looked so tired and looked good while being so.

"お-おはよう、へいちょう。" I stuttered.

[o-ohayo, heichou ~ g-good morning, Captain]

He just closed his eyes with his eyebrows still furrowed. Relieved that he didn't snap at me, I went to make him tea as a thank you before leaving to mess hall.

I knew he didn't like his tea sweetened, so I didn't add any sugar. I set it on his desk where he still slept, and I quietly left his room.

I walked into mess hall and saw Mikasa and Armin talking to each other.

"Good morning." I said to them before I took my seat.

"Good morning, Irmina." They both replied.

"エレンにきずつけてない？" Mikasa asked worriedly.

[Eren ni kizutsuketenai? ~ They haven't hurt Eren?]

I shook my head and she sighed in relief.

"I swear if they do as much as-" Mikasa started to threaten.

こわっ。I thought to myself.

[kowa ~ frightening]

"M-Mikasa." Armin nervously tried calling her down.

I finished my meal and snuck an extra bread from the basket.

I exited mess hall and walked a distance towards the basement.

"Oi." I turned around to see Captain Levi standing outside his room, sipping on the tea I made him. "どこにいくつもり？"

[doko ni ikutsumori? ~ And where are you going?]

"I want to bring bread to Eren, Captain."

Without stopping me, he turned and walked back into his room and closed the door.

I ran to the basement where I saw Eren biting down on his curled index finger.

He was trying to suppress something.

"Eren, おなかすいてるでしょう？" I asked as I offered the bread through the bars.
