Chapter Seven

Okay, so I speak Japanese because my mom is, and words in Japanese are much better than in English. So from time to time, I'll write something in Japanese and then in parenthesis, after the Japanese, I'll translate to what it means in English. You might not like it, but Japanese words hold more meaning if that makes sense... also I only know how to write in hiragana and katakana because after like 2nd grade I stopped going to Japanese school here in the U.S. I'm planning to further my education by learning to read and write in kanji. Maybe you'll learn from the Japanese words I put in!

Levi's POV

Eren was held captive in the dungeon. Erwin and I paid a visit to tell him we were going to be responsible for him after his trial, if we manage to convince Commander-in-Chief Darius Zacklay who was going to be the judge.

"If you do get handed over to us, you'll be under my watch. Not because I trust you, but because if you decide to go against us or not show control over your titan form, I can get you out of the nape of your titan. There is no better person for this job than me." I got closer to the bars, and he looked at me in fear. "Let me ask you something. Would you be okay if I cut off your limbs after getting you out of your titan?" He gasped. "We can't let you run off, can we? They're just gonna grow back, right?" I purposefully made myself sound insane, which seemed to work because he was shaking in fear.

Hah, what a wuss for someone who posses such power to become a titan.

After the trial where I put on a show and Eren was beaten so badly that his tooth flew out, I plopped myself down beside him casually.

"You don't resent me, do you?" I asked. My face expressionless as always.

"N-no...I know that you had to do what you needed to do to prove that you would show no mercy to me." I nodded and got up to leave.

We were taking him to the Survey Corps' former HQ. That's where we were going to keep him hostage to experiment him.

*at the former HQ*

"It hasn't been used in years. It's probably filled with dust and mold..." Oluo pointed out from behind me. The thought of dirtiness everywhere made me shiver internally.

"だからおまえたちはそうじをする。ほこり いっぴきのこらずに。。。" I said. I heard Oluo squeak quietly.

[dakara omaetachi wa souji o suru. hokori ippiki nokorazuni ~ that's why you guys will be cleaning. Leaving not a single speak of dust behind.]

Irmina's POV

*night before*

Commander Erwin explained what it meant to be in the Survey Corps before we could choose which faction we wanted to work in.

"60% of you won't make it back. If you're not prepared to lose your lives for the sake of humanity, leave now." From the corner of my eye, I saw someone take a step back before turning around to walk away. Several others followed, then a whole group. More and more people walked away until about 20-something of us were left.

I made it into the top 10, I can leave right now and serve safely under the king!

Why didn't I move? There was a higher chance of survival if I turned around right now!

I clenched my teeth and held a fist on my sides. I can't believe I'm doing this.

Oh, how upset about this my parents will be...
