CHAPTER 13: ULTIMATE WEAPON

The most powerful weapon is  'Lipsticks'.

 ---------

"Bullshit!"

Yamazaki Daisuke slammed a thick folder on Kosuke's desk. Its contents slipped out one by one, ultimately falling to the floor cluttered and disarranged. The enraged prime minister was not satisfied. He stomped on the papers, pounding them mightily with his foot. "We just lost three billion dollars because of your stupidity! What have you been doing?" he continued to howl in rage. "The affiliates are pulling out their shares one by one, thanks to your neglect of the business! To make it much worse, the Dasera Hotel incident has become a great threat – a work of small time scumbags! The Spectra's now being threatened by a bunch of lowlife rogues? Dmitri reported to me that you even let the manager of the opposing political party go? And yesterday, one of our senior drug scientists was sent to the hospital – the old man can't even remember his name!"

"Scientist?"

"The plant biologist from the Akita Laboratory – he's also the man in charge with manufacturing the drugs! Even my men on the hospital could not figure out what the fuck happened to him!" Daisuke said. "What is happening to the investigation?"

"Ongoing," Kosuke reached for his pocket and pulled out a cigarette.

"ONGOING? Goddamn it!" Daisuke exclaimed. "And for how long will it be ongoing?"

Kosuke did not answer. He casually pulled out a lighter and clicked for flame as if not bothered. Blowing out smoke, he leaned on his chair comfortably, crossed his legs on top of the pile of papers on his desk, and slouched lazily.

"I'm doing everything, okay?" Kosuke said. "Just mind your 'diplomatic affairs' for heaven's sake."

"I've heard you say that a billion times, Kosuke!" Daisuke scowled, pointing his finger towards his son. "You better do something about the affiliates and the hotel case or else you know what will happen!"

Coincidentally, Dmitri Williams entered Kosuke's office. After a quick bow on the prime minister, his eyes rolled towards Kosuke, who looked utterly dismayed despite his efforts to look cool and unworried. Dmitri was very much pleased with it. He had a grin on his face.

"Here's the data regarding the weapon inventory," Dmitri said, handing a sealed envelope to Daisuke.

"No, give that to him," Daisuke said as he gestured towards Kosuke. "He should get used to taking over the business."

As Dmitri placed the envelope on his untidy desk, Kosuke placed down his feet and straightened up on the chair. He reached for the envelope, tore the edge, and pulled out the papers inside.

"New toys from Russia," Daisuke said as Kosuke read what was written on the paper. "At ten P.M. tonight, two hundred newly-made high-caliber guns and nineteen crates of methamphetamine, opium, and cocaine would arrive at Narita. It would be transported to our secret warehouse at the basement of Nakashima Business Tower."

"What do I need to do?" Kosuke asked.

"Secure the items and make sure they reach their destination."

"You're a goddamn devil."

"It's a business after all. You're here to become a professional devil. It's your fate, son. Make your father proud," Daisuke grinned. "You haven't forgotten about our deal, have you? You have to make sure you do each job well or else..."

"You don't need to remind me," Kosuke said. "I haven't forgotten."

"Then, do your job well," Daisuke smiled mischievously as he headed towards the exit. "It's a cruel world where predators feed on the prey – where kings rule over peons. Be glad that you're the predator. Thank me for making you that king."
