The crowded Washington sidewalk showed many faces that I didn't know nor cared to know. Unless they spoke to me, I didn't bother people. I reminded myself that Washington D.C. was nothing like New York City. I paid attention to where I was going and directed myself towards the Washington Monument. Once I reached it, I stared up at the thing. It wasn't as interesting as I thought it'd be.

I took a picture as well I as I could and moved on to the Lincoln Memorial. I took another picture then went to a local diner. The people inside were dressed in suits and ties for their lunch break. I sighed and sat down in a booth alone. A brunette waitress gave me a menu and asked what I would like to drink. I told her just some coffee and she left.

"May I sit here?" A man's voice asked. I looked up to see a man with blue eyes and blonde hair pointing to the seat across from me. I nodded and pulled my blue dress over my knees. "I don't feel like sitting alone and you looked like you wouldn't mind me sitting with you."

"I wouldn't mind it," I replied with a smile. The waitress came back and placed my coffee in front of me. The man ordered a drink and the lady left. "I'm Adriella," I introduced myself.

"I'm Steve," he replied. I took a sip of my coffee then smiled at Steve.

"Adriella!" I heard my friend yell from behind me. I turned and saw Nycole rushing over to our table. "It's beautiful here, but not as beautiful as Paris." She looked over at Steve. "Hello, I'm Nycole," she held her hand out for him to shake.

"I'm Steve," he said, taking her hand to shake.

"Oh, yeah, you're Mr. Steve Rogers," Nycole said. He smiled and nodded.

"That's me," he replied. Nycole smiled and looked at me.

"I'm ready to leave here. I miss home and I want to see Paris again. It's so beautiful! Take me back!" She whined.

"I have no control over that, Nycole," I replied. She turned her attention back to Steve and smiled widely.

"Seems like you've been hiding lately, Mr. Rogers. Why?" She asked. He shrugged in reply. "Well, shouldn't you have a comeback?"

"Nycole, calm down," I whispered.

"You know what, Adriella?" Nycole asked. She didn't bother waiting for me to reply. "Don't you think Steve is just a beautiful thing?" I started to choke on my coffee and Nycole laughed. She always loved to push my buttons in front of guys. The waitress came back and got Nycole's drink and Steve and I's food. I sighed and waited for everyone to speak again, but no one did. We all were busy either eating or drinking. I mentally slapped myself. "Are you doing anything tonight, Steve?" Nycole asked finally.

"I don't think so," he replied after taking a sip of whatever he got.

"Well, would you like to go to dinner with us? It's nothing huge. Just us getting dressed up and eating something maybe wonderful. The food would never be as good as Paris'." Nycole smiled and leaned her head against me.

"You don't have to," I started.

"I'd love to," Steve said. "It would be fun to go out with some people." I smiled and looked for the waitress.

Nycole and Steve spoke and I quietly went to eating food once it arrived. After eating, Nycole told Steve where we would meet and we went our separate ways. Nycole and I went back to our hotel and watched a movie for the time until we needed to get ready. Nycole got ready before me, needing to take a shower. I curled my hair while she was in the shower so that it would be ready for her. When she got out, I did my makeup. She was already in her purple dress and had her makeup all done.
