I walked out of the bedroom after a short nap and saw Steve, Natasha, and Sam, the owner of the apartment, talking. They faced me and Steve stood. He didn't know I had heard what they were saying from the room.

"I want in," I said.

"No, Adriella," Steve said. Natasha didn't look at me.

"Why not? I want to help! Whoever it is just shot my best friend! I need to help!" I protested with growing anger.

"You're not going to help," Steve replied, not bothering what I said.

"I'm just as good as Natasha! I can do this! Four is better than three!" I yelled.

"Adriella, if anything were to happen to you, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself!" Steve shouted back. I took a step back and swallowed the lump in my throat. I nodded and pushed my hair out of my face. "I'm sorry," Steve whispered. I pulled him into a hug and squeezed my eyes shut.

"Just be careful," I whispered. Steve pulled away and kissed me.

"I promise I will," he murmured against my lips. I smiled and pulled back.

"I'm going to go visit Nycole," I told him, walking back to the room.

Once the three left, I changed into my black dress, black heels, brown jacket, and sunglasses. I took my purse and walked towards the hospital. I asked for Nycole's room and was directed to it. I opened the door and saw the brown haired woman in the room. She stood from her spot and faced me. She turned back to Nycole and moved a curl from her face.

"We can't lose another one," she whispered. "We've lost too many to Hydra."

"That's who's taken over SHIELD?" I asked. She nodded. I stood on the opposite side of Nycole and stared down at her.

"I've read your file," the woman said. "Military brat, raised from army men and women. Why didn't you go?"

"My brother," I whispered.

"You picked a good organization. SHIELD is like the army in a way," she said. I nodded. She looked at me. "I'm agent Maria Hill, if you didn't know."

"Hello," I said.

"Adriella, I want you to help me."

"Let me stop you there," I put my hand up. "Steve said he doesn't want me to help."

"Steve can get over it. We need someone like you in this. Nycole told me what happened and how you saved her. I need you with me," Maria said. I sighed.

"Okay. I'll do it," I said.

"Let's get going," she replied.

Maria handed me some black clothes and pushed me to hurry. I changed into black, high-waisted pants, black crop top, black leather jacket, and black heels. I took Nycole's purse and put on my black sunglasses.

Maria took me to the car and looked at the tracker she placed on one of the cars. She explained the plan and some other things. She stopped on the middle of the highway and I looked at the cars flipped over. We rushed towards one of the vans. We knocked out two of the men and stole their uniforms, putting them over our clothes. My heels still showed.

I watched Steve, Natasha, and Sam get pushed into the van by one man. I shut the door behind myself and Maria and waited till we got to the location. My nerves were getting to me and everything felt like it was shaking.

"She's bleeding out," Sam said to Maria. Suddenly, Maria knocked out the guy next to her and I did the same. Maria pulled off her helmet and I followed.

Once stopped, Maria lead us down to somewhere I did not know. Fury appeared and Natasha and Steve looked shocked. I listened to the plan attentively. I walked away and took off the uniform. I pulled up my jeans and fixed my shirt. My jacket sleeves were wrinkled up, so I pulled them down to feel more comfortable.

"I told you not to come," Steve said from behind me. I faced him and threw my hair over my shoulders. Steve had his arms crossed, showing the frustration he had.

"Maria asked me to do it for Nycole," I said. "You'll just have to get over it."

"You're so stubborn," he said as he relaxed.

"Nycole wouldn't want me to do this without her." Steve smiled and looked me up and down. He walked away and Natasha came up to me. She nodded towards the hallway and I followed.

"Steve has a thing for you," she admitted. "I saw how he looked at you. He's protective."

"Like my brother," I agreed.

"I want you to be careful, okay? For Steve," Natasha said. She cared for him and I knew she meant it in a friend way.

"So what should I do for this?" I asked.

"Stay outside and around. You can take anyone outside, right?" She asked. I nodded. "We'll set you up with things that'll make it easier. When they come down, make sure you're nowhere near it." I nodded. "Just be careful and aware."

"I will."

Steve walked into the area and nodded, saying it was time to go. Maria handed me a few things on our way out and showed me how to use them as we walked. Steve had gotten his old suit somehow, and led the way. Natasha disappeared. Steve stopped in front of me and looked down at me.

"Be. Careful," he said, sternly.

"I've got that," I replied with an attitude.

"I don't want to have to save you a billion times," Steve joked.

"Honey, in the end, I will be the one saving you."

I took his head in my hands and pulled his head towards mine, our lips crashing together. Steve pulled away with a smile on his lips.

I won't give up without a fight.
