I opened the door for Nycole and embraced her as she walked in. She laughed then threw her bag down as I shut the door. I pointed to Nycole where we would be watching the movie and told her to go ahead and put it in while I grabbed us both a drink. I sat down beside Nycole, handed her a can of Coke, and started the movie.

"So, about your brother?" Nycole asked. She took a sip before going on. "When did you find out about him again?"

"I got a letter saying he's coming back. I forgot about him because he was barely ever there. He made the military his job and they told him he can't anymore, which is really weird, but I guess he's spent most of his life there," I explained.

"Did he ever go to Danny's funeral?" Nycole asked.

"I think I remember him going for the ceremony then leaving, but that's all I remember," I said. "We're the only Bohn's left," I laughed. Nycole laughed and nodded.

"Where'd Steve go?" Nycole asked, looking around.

"Oh, him and Tony went out to do a mission or something," I said. "Steve wants me to meet him at a restaurant tonight at 6, though."

"Ooh! Can I help you get ready?" She asked with excitement. I nodded. She threw her hands up and hugged me. We both laughed then went back to watching the movie.

Nycole got a call and while she took it, I paused the movie and made more popcorn. I waited patiently for the popcorn to finish. The popcorn finished and I put them in separate bowls then sat on the couch. Nycole walked out a few minutes later with a smile on her face. I asked her what was up but she shook her head.

We finished watching the movie and moved into my room to start getting ready. I told her to go ahead and choose a dress while I took a shower. When I got out of the shower, Nycole threw a dress on the bed. I looked at it for a minute, then remembered where I got it. It was a floral mint dress with no sleeves. I changed into the dress then let Nycole start on my makeup while my hair dried.

Nycole told me a funny story about her and Loki. Thor had to stay by their side to make sure they didn't get into any trouble. One night while Thor was sleeping, they snuck out and were innocently having a late night picnic and Thor came running out, angry and groggy then passed out before they could even explain themselves. I could barely breathe because of how she was explaining it.

She finished my makeup then started curling my hair. I looked at the time then added up how long it would take to get to the restaurant. It would all depend on traffic. Nycole told me she'll drive me there since it's on her way home.

Once she finished my hair, I put on white heels, my black and grey jacket, and my star necklace that Steve had given me. Nycole packed things into my white clutch then handed it to me. She stared at me for a moment and looked like she was going to cry.

"Nycole, don't cry," I said, hugging her.

"It's fine," she whimpered. "You just look so great."

I got her to stop crying and we started to drive to the restaurant. Traffic was as bad as I thought it would be, but then something felt off. We were sitting at a stoplight when I heard something. The light turned green and what I heard smashed right into us. I screamed at the pain then passed out.

Nycole's point of view.

Once we reached the hospital, everything went in slow motion. No one was telling me anything. I couldn't believe someone was drunk at only 5:30 in the afternoon. It didn't matter that they just got off work. They hurt me and my friend. I wasn't hurt as bad as I could have been, but no one told me if Adriella was hurt that bad. I called Steve and explained what happened in the best way I could. Steve would be here any minute. A nurse checked me to see if I had anything broken, then let me go. I found Steve and Tony as I paced around the hospital, waiting to hear about Adriella. Steve asked what happened and I told him all I could remember. He was starting to break down. Tony tried to calm him down, but he was just falling apart.

"It wasn't that bad, Steve," I tried to explain. "She'll be okay."

"Nycole Biersack," a nurse announced. I turned and hurried towards her. "She's asleep, but I figured you would like to go in and see her."

I followed the nurse into the dark room. Adriella lied on the bed. She looked unharmed, except for the scratches. I asked if she would be okay, and the nurse nodded. I stood at the side of the bed and watched Adriella start to wake up.

Adriella's point of view.

I looked up once my eyes opened then to my left and saw Nycole standing there. She explained what happened. That we got in a car wreck and I passed out when they stuck a needle in me after I woke up a little. I nodded then hugged her. She climbed into the bed with me while the nurse turned the light on.

"Can you take our picture?" Nycole asked. The nurse nodded and Nycole leaned her head on me and I covered my face.

After she took the picture, Nycole left the room. I sat up a little and pulled the blanket up, feeling the chills on my body. Nycole walked in and Steve followed behind her. I smiled and called him over. I realized he had been crying. He handed me a sweatshirt then Tony walked in.

"I thought you may be cold," Steve said. I smiled and put the sweatshirt on.

"I brought you these," Tony announced, placing balloons beside my bed. "From all of us."

"Thank you, Tony," I said. "That's really sweet."

"Not as sweet as what Steve had planned," Tony murmured. I looked at Steve.

He hit Tony's arm then asked him to leave. He would get back to him tomorrow. Steve removed his shirt to reveal a black t-shirt. I pulled Nycole over and stole her beanie. I put the beanie on Steve and laughed a little.

"You look good with a beanie," I told Steve.

He smiled and climbed into the small bed with me. He took up most of the bed himself, but I could still fit. Steve leaned in to kiss me, then I heard the shutter of a camera. We turned towards Nycole and laughed as she slowly put her phone down.

"Do you guys want any food? I mean, you were supposed to have dinner tonight," Nycole said.

We nodded and Nycole left to get whatever food she was thinking of. While she was gone, Steve and I stayed in the bed, silent. We just enjoyed each other's company. I ran my hand up and down Steve's arm slowly and quietly started to sing the words to a song that Michelle had showed me while I was hiding from everything. Steve kissed the top of my head.

Nycole came back and handed us our bag of food. She turned on the tv then sat on the bed by our feet. As we ate, we all stayed silent. There were moments when we'd laugh at the tv, but other than that, we all were silent, paying attention to the show that was on.

After we ate, Nycole left and the nurse checked on me. She let me leave and Steve got us a cab. I felt so weird wearing a sweatshirt over the dress I was wearing before the crash. I sighed and pulled down the bottom as I sat in the cab.

"Your dress looks great," Steve whispered to comfort me. I looked down, smiled, then looked back up at him.

"I only wish I could have worn it," I replied.

"We'll go to dinner a different night then and you can buy a new dress," Steve said. I nodded.

We got back into the apartment and I quickly changed. I was careful with my bandages, although there weren't many. After brushing my teeth, I climbed into bed. Steve followed and held me close, protectively.

I could tell he was still scared from what had happened. He wasn't even in the crash, but he was protective over me. I looked up at him and ran my fingers through his hair. He smiled and kissed me then closed his eyes. I closed my eyes, too, and entangled our fingers together. I wanted to let him know that I'm okay and I'm still here.
