Family Gathering

Birthday ng pamangkin ko kila Ate Jona, 5 years old na si Jofur. Sa bahay nila Kuya Ruffort sa may San Juan ginanap ito. And ofcourse magkakasama ang partidos nila at sa amin. Kasama si Maddox and it's for sure.

Medyo nakakatamad talagang sumama for not having anyone during the party, so I'll guess every gathering I'll be on my own. Nasa sala lang ako playing with my pamangkin until Maddox and another Chinese guy arrived.

Malaki na si Jofur at kamukha niya si Ate Jona than Kuya Ruffort. Nang umupo si Maddox and Chinese guy beside him, I know him kaso bihira kong nakikit sa gathering kaya I can't remember his name.

"Andrea, brother ko pala si Mardi. Mardi, Andrea Tita ni Jofur." Pagpapakilala ni Maddox. Nakipagkamay naman si Mardi, somehow he looks like Maddox.

'Di ganoon nakikipagsocialize si Mardi he is just playing on his phone. While Maddox has his eyes on me. Nasaan kaya 'yung Jasmine Curtis look-a-like niyang girlfriend? Did they broke up? Or sadyang wala lang, well maybe I shouldn't care besides he looks like he can have every girl in this world. Playboy dude. Babaero. Womanizer. Fboy? Ang sama ko na.

My mom calls me out, I think she's going to introduce someone, again. Even if I broke up with someone it doesn't mean it is fine to have a replacement or mingle with another guy. Too much with the pain.

"Andrea, anak ni Tita Nirita mo si Nijan Sembrano, same school kayo. Nijan daughter ko si Andrea." My mom introduced me with tall, moreno, quite big eyes guy. Tita Nirita is my mom's college bestie and also Ate Jona's wedding godmother.

Obviously makikipagkamay ako with a tight smile on my face. Dammit. 

I noticed Maddox is going around us, nakikinig ba siya or what. Nosy.

"Why don't you talk? There you've all the time." My mom point out sa table nearby.

Ewan ko ba kung hinahanapan ako ng love life ng mommy ko or binubugaw ako eh, anyway she is just insisting to enjoy life than being miserable because of that fucking love!

Pero my mom is making me realize ng 'di LAHAT ng lalaki ay manloloko. As if na maniwala ako. Tawasin mo!

Bakit ba kasi need ng partner sa life when you can have it own your own? 'Yung ikaw lang magmamahal at wala ng iba pa. Less gastos ka pa diba?

"So taga SPU ka? What course? I mean." Nijan asked.

Hindi, taga bahay ako, kakasabi lang eh. Sarcasm inside me.

"Journalism. Photojournalism actually." I simply replied.

"Ah. What year?"

"Second year almost." He asked.

"May boyfriend ka na?"

So what's the deal ah? Bakit ganyan tanong ah?

Umiling lang ako. He looked down, pondering his thoughts.
