Chapter 18
Grace's POV
"Run, just-just run."
No, no, no.
This can't be happening. Please, god, no.
"Grace!"
Jared yelled from behind me.
"We've been running for, 2 hours!"
I started to slow down.
"I think, by now, they would have given up. You've been flying/running for 2 hours!"
He caught up to me, and was breathing heavily.
"Even guardians can't go on forever."
I looked down.
"This-this-there's just, no way....."
I say,
This, can't be happening.
Sorcerers, of all things. Sorcerers! Ugh, she's going to kill us.
"What are we going to do?"
Jared asked.
"I, have no idea."
"Wonderful."
He said
"Just, wonderful."
"But, for now, let's just take a break."
I said.
I sat down on a log, and took a deep breath.
The area around me seemed to calm me down, a little.
The trees had leaves that were a dark calming green, and above that the sky was a light blue.
The ground had a soft brown soil beneath it.
The trees had a rough and soft brown feel, like a blanket that's both soft and itchy.
Jared sat down on the ground next to me, and ran his hand through his hair.
"Oh, crap" he said "I just realized that Kristin, is with a ginger we just met, you and me are on the run from, every evil thing on the planet, and the most evil faerie queen in the world is trying to kill us!"
He looked at me and smiled sarcastically.
"Other than that? We have had a wonderful 2 days."
He rolled his eyes, and laid his head back on the log. Mumbling something about 'wonderful, just freaking wonderful.'
"Yep."
The sun was starting to set.
"So, do your prefer tree house, or a house made out of trees?"
I asked.
"Ha-ha, Grace" Jared said "but today, I'm taking care of shelter."
"Jared, your fire, how are you going to-"
I couldn't even finish my sentence.
Jared lifted his hands, and fire shout out of the ground into to medium boxes.
When the fire went out, two black boxes stood in their place.
Jared walked over to one of the two.
"Your house milady."
He said sarcastically.
"Thank sir."
I said back.
He opened a door which led to a small room with a bed and a pillow.
"Obsidian."
He said with a smirk.
"Now," I said "off with you."
I shut the door in his face.
He walked to his house and I was left alone in the little black rock house.
I took a deep breath, and sat against the door.
"Do not be afraid."
"Do not be afraid."
