Brielle
"Brielle? That's a pretty fancy name there, I'm guessing you are a soc then." Dallas says while taking a seat down in the chair. Rolling my eyes I get back to my work.
Ponyboy speaks up though, "Dally why do you have to be like that? She doesn't even know you, just be nice. Maybe try and make a good first impression." I've never really heard him like that actually. He's only talked once about Dallas, but it was brief.
Dallas smirks and leans forward in his chair. "Correction, I do know her. She was at Bucks and I saved her from some creep."
Crap, I didn't want Pony to know. I didn't want him to think bad of me, he's one of the only I care about what they think of me.
Trying to see how Pony's face looks, he seems surprised and confused. He turns to look at me, "What were you doing in a bar?"
"It was a dare." I lie quickly, and I would say it was a solid excuse. My real reason seemed stupid anyways, and I bet the others would laugh. Ponyboy nods his head, "Let's just back to work."
Once we do, Soda and Steve have to head back to work. Two-bit decides to head out too, "Maybe I'll actually do my homework." He says while leaving before he starts to laugh at his own joke. I swear he's always high or drunk.
Closing up all my books I start to put everything back in my bag. I'm glad I was able to get all my work done, it helped having Pony to help me if I needed it.
"So have any other ideas about the whole Russel thing?" Pony asks bringing me another heavenly slice of chocolate cake. As we sit in the floor, I answer him back, "None. I mean your idea wouldn't seem that bad."
"Who would it be though? I mean you only deserve the best fake boyfriend ever." We both laugh at that, and finish our slices. Pony takes them into the kitchen, and I stand up.
"I'll be heading out, thanks for today Pony. See you later." He shouts out a goodbye and I turn to leave through the door, but see Dallas standing there.
Sighing, I slide past him. I almost forgot he was there watching tv. He follows me outside which makes me groan in annoyance. Maybe he's going a different way.
But of course I was wrong about that. "Hey wait up!" He yells and jogs over to me, and I know there's no point and getting rid of him. "Look I don't need a walk home."
He chuckles at that, while taking about a cancer stick. Personally I don't like smoking, but I won't go around judging others for doing it. Just don't blow it in my face. Dallas seems like he'd do that though.
Take a breath and blowing out smoke, I decide to look forward. "Trust me, it's not safe. Besides I have a question to ask."
"Shoot."
"What's the whole fake boyfriend thing?" Why the hell does he care? Okay maybe I was sounding a little harsh here, but still. Why the sudden interest in my life? It's not like I'm that interesting of a person.
Sighing, I look at the cars passing. I wish I I owned a car, but my parents won't buy me one. They say I don't need one cause everything is in walking distance. That's kinda true, and not either.
Looking back over at Dallas, I see he is waiting for my answer. "My ex is a little clingy since our breakup. So to get him off my back I might have told him I was seeing someone. I added that we weren't official yet."
He chuckles at that and takes another drag. "So you need a fake boyfriend?" Better not get any ideas boy.
He's not my type and we wouldn't be believable as a couple. "Yes Dallas, but I'll figure it out."
"Okay Brielle." I drags out my names and shaking his head at me. Then he cringes confusing me, "I don't like that, it's too fancy for me. I'm going to call you Bri. I guess you could call me Dally if you'd like. Only certain people can call me that."
Faking excitement, I skip around him, "Oh really?! I'm so special I get to call you Dally! Oh my." I pretend to fan myself, fluttering my eyelashes. He rolls his eyes scoffing at me.
My happiness soon dies though when I see a black madras drive up to us. I start to panic, because that's Russel's car. It's him and his three other buddies that always managed to annoy me.
He gets out with one other friend while the other two poke out to take a look at the scene. "Hey baby, what are you doing on the east side? Also why are you with this greaser trash?"
I could tell Dallas did not like his words one bit. He steps up, and wraps an arm around my waist. What the hell-? "Bri is my girlfriend, so I best you git. We don't need you preppy soc toxins."
Did he just? No he didn't, but he did. Dallas just called me his girlfriend?! Wow, things just seemed to flip. Russel's eyes grow wide, and he seems a little taken back. "There's no way. Brielle you are with him? Do you even know who he is? A criminal. Come on, I'll drive you home."
Shaking my head no, "I'm good, but thanks. I'll be fine walking home. I'll see you later Russ." Wrapping my arm around Dallas' waist, we turn and continue to walk down the street. After minute or so, I hear the car drive off.
"That was close." I say as we start to see my neighborhood come into view. Dallas nods his head and we stop in front of my house.
Waving a goodbye to him, I go to make my way up to my front door. "I'll see you tomorrow since I'll be walking you to school."
"Why?"
"Cause you are my girlfriend."
What the hell did I get myself into now?
