"Can we just stay in here forever?" Luke hummed into my neck. His hands ran along my skin as the sheets sheltered us from the cold air in our room. I sighed and leaned my head against his. "Please? I don't want to work today. . ."
"I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we have to get up. The world is in danger and it's up to us to save it." I brought his hand up to my face and kissed his knuckles. "Trust me, I don't want to leave this bed either. . .but I think I was assigned to an important mission today."
"Stay with me instead. . ." He kissed along my neck. I wanted to call in a sick day, but I knew this mission was important to the rebellion. I hesitantly unwrapped the sheets from my body and shivered from the cold. Luke let out a long groan from the coldness. I giggled and began pulling my underwear on my body.
"I hate to break it to you, but you're assigned to the mission as well. . .get up, Lazy Bum." I patted his ankle jokingly and pulled my pants and buttoned them around my waist. I was still half asleep and didn't want to leave, but I couldn't afford a break at the moment. . . "Hurry up and start getting dressed!" I whined before pulling a shirt over my head, but heard a chuckle. "What?"
"Look at your shirt, Babe." He smirked as I followed his words and looked down to see I pulled on a see through tank top. I groaned and took it off, putting on the correct attire as Luke stayed in bed. I huffed and rolled my eyes.
"Fine, stay here, I'll be back by nightfall, Loser." I threw a pillow at him in a joking way, but some part of me was frustrated with his laziness. I left out the door with his laughter taunting and following me all the way to the hangar where Leia and Han stood with papers scattered amongst the table.
"Where's Luke?" Leia questioned as I tried to get a glimpse of what the papers said.
"He's taking a sick day." I muttered disappointingly and pointed towards the papers. "What's all of that?"
"It's a mission for the other pilots." Leia answered.
"Oh, okay, well. . .can you tell Nik that he's coming on the mission with me instead? I need a second if I'm going to speak to the Sand Queen of Tatooine. . .honestly, who knew they'd have queens over there on that sand bucket?" I chuckled, waiting for her approval, I suddenly spotted my second for the day. "Nik! Let's go. . .you're with me!" He saluted and began suiting up. I looked towards Leia expectantly with her tired look staring back at me.
"Fine, you can go grab your lightsaber, but try not to kill anyone. . .or anything." I smiled and ran to grab my prize possession. I clicked the button in the side and smirked as a blade of purple glow shot through.
"Ready to head out, Captain." Nik saluted as he stood up straight. I nodded and closed my saber before heading toward an X-wing starfighter that held two seats instead of one. I jumped in the pilot seat and grabbed a headpiece, clicking it on so it could connect to the base. Once I heard the familiar beep and saw that Nik sat behind me, I turned the vehicle on. Only to see Luke with disheveled hair running out as I flew out of the hangar. I huffed and rolled my eyes.
"Nice of you to finally leave the bed." I muttered while glaring at the stars.
"Baby, I'm sorry." He apologized but I was too pissed off to care, he knew we go on missions side by side, not with one at home too lazy to tag along. "I'll make it up to you when you get back, I promise."
"Whatever, Birdbrain." I gripped the wheel in frustration, I just wanted to take him by the shoulders and shake him for breaking our pact. "We're ready for light speed, Leia." I began clicking the correct chorus for light speed. "Here we go. . .Luke, although you're stupid, I love you." And I pressed the final button to jump to lightspeed. I gripped the wheel even harder while shutting my eyes. They opened once I felt at peace, I turned behind me towards Nik with a smirk. "Ready, Niklaus?"
