The Announcement...

CYN

It's been about a week or so since Erica and I had gotten engaged. We've spent everyday together since that day. In which is weird for the both of us because we both work so much but I loved every minute of it. She has been real sweet(not that she wasn't before but it's just...I don't know...different).

We are at HER house in Miami. We decided to tell both sides of the family that we are engaged so we planned a little family gathering. All of HER family came and all of mine did as well.  I really wish that my brother was here but I know that he is watching over us.

Before the big announcement, I pulled Erica to the side and said that I wanted to tell King first. "That's fine baby. Do you want to do it by yourself or together?" she asked.  I told HER that we can tell him together but then after, I wanted to talk to him alone. She had this weird grin on HER face. "What's that face for?" I asked. She said that she loves how King and I interact with each other. "He's a dope kid and soon to by MY KID TOO!!! I love him as if I had him myself" I told HER. She hugged me and whispered, "Thank you baby for embracing him. It means the world to me. The two people that I love most in this world...ugh, here I go with this emotional stuff again. You get my drift right?" "Yes baby. You don't have to thank me for that. I should be the one to thank you for allowing me to be in his life".

We kissed for like five minutes. I had to break the kiss because I started to feel some type of way and we have company!!!

Erica called King in the house from playing outside with his cousins. They both walked into his room where I was waiting.

ERICA

I'm so nervous.  I know King adores the hell out of Cyn but this will be so different for him and I just hope that he's cool with it.

"King, Cyn and I have something to tell you". "Are you breaking up?" he asked. Cyn and I looked at each with the look of confusion and at the same time we both said "NO"!!

"Good" he said "I would be so mad and sad if you did". "Well baby, with that being said, Cyn and I are getting married"!!! Without hesitation, King started jumping up and down on his bed yelling,"YAY...YAY!!! WHEN? AM I GONNA BE THERE? CAN I TELL GRANDMA?"

We all just started laughing because he was so excited and it was real cute. "So I guess we don't have to ask you if you are ok with it...lol" . Cyn said. He jumped off the bed and calmy said that he's been praying for this. For all of us to be one big happy family. I started to feel my eyes watering so I told King that Cyn wanted to talk to him alone.

CYN

Erica left because she started to cry and I wanted to talk to King alone. He sat next to me and asked me what I wanted to talk to him about? " Well King, I just wanted to know your expectations from me? I want to know how you feel about me moving in with you and your mom". King looked at me with the most serious face. "Cyn, you've always been really nice to me. You play with me, you take me places, and the most important thing is that you make my mom really happy. She's so much more fun when you are here. I always wanted my mom to be happy and I really like you. You moving in with us will be AWESOME....I can't wait."

Listening to him was like listening to an adult. This kid...my kid is dope. "Well King, I promise you that nothing will be different...it'll only get better. Just know that I'm gonna always be here to support  you in whatever it is that you do. Your mom really wanted us to get along and you've made that so easy...you are awesome"!! "Thanks Cyn...mom lol." He gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek then ran back outside. After I sat there for a little bit smiling because he called me "mom" Erica walked in...

"So...how did it go" she asked. "It went really good babe. Our son is amazing. I love him to death" I said to HER. "Cyn, I love you". "Yeah Yeah...I'm getting tired of you". I joked "LIES"she responded.  "I'm just kidding sweetheart, I love you too".

"So are you ready baby"? I asked HER "Yes my love but can you put your ring back on please?" I take the ring out of my pocket and she took it from me. I looked at HER with confusion. She got on HER knee and placed the ring back on my finger. "Thank you babe".

ERICA

We head downstairs and called everyone into the living room.

So Cyn and I invited you all here because we have something to tell you guys. About a week or so ago I proposed to Cyn and she said YES!!! We are getting married!!!

You would have sworn that we were at a concert or at a HEATS game because there was A LOT of cheering. We were bombarded with hugs, kisses and high fives. I turned to fiance and whispered,"So I guess that they all approve." She whispered back,"I think thats an understatement. ..lol".

My sister went into the kitchen and poured some champagne for all of us. Our moms went to the middle of the room and said " Let's toast to Erica and Cynthia with a congratulations. 1...2...3 CONGRATULATIONS Erica and Cyn.  King ran up to us and said "Congrats Mom and congrats Cyn"!! We both hugged him and said "Thanks son! "at the same time.

Three hours have passed and everyone has slowed down and started to go to bed. Cyn and I went to our room and just laid in the bed and just talked.

"So Mrs. Mena, how do you feel?"  She looked at HER handthat the ring was on and then at me and said,"I'm overwhelmed by all of this still. I can't believe that EVERYBODY is happy for us. I mean not one person had anything negative to say."  "I know babe, how amazing is that? We are surrounded by love and support." I said as I stroked the side of HER face. Cyn looked at me and said,"Babe, I have a surprise for you".

CYN

I walk to my drawer and pulled out a small bag. I walk back over to where she was and handed it to HER. She looked at me and said,"What is this"? I just said "Open it".

She pulled out a box , opened it and....

"Baby...what is this?" Erica asked me. "Well babe, I didnt want to be the only one with a ring so I got you one for you too. I want people to know that you are MINE just like you want people to know that I am yours". I grabbed the ring out of the box, got on one knee and asked,"Erica Mena, will you do me the honor and wear this ring"? "She looked at me and said"I DO...I mean YES". I placed the ring on HER finger and she pulled me up and kissed me.

"I heard you say"I do" I looked at HER and giggled. "I was just practicing" she said. "What am I gonna do with you?". She looked at me with this weird look and said," Can you make love to your fiance?" I took HER by HER waist and said,"There is nothing that I would rather do than to make love to my beautiful, gorgeous and sexy fiance".
