8: Danger

"Danger?" Jungkook questioned Yeri, confusion evident in his voice. "What do you mean, danger?"

"I don't... I don't know." Yeri trailed off, struggling to maintain her breathing. "I saw things; things I never wanted to remember."

"You need to go more into detail, Yeri." Jungkook said sternly. "I can't figure anything out about what you saw if you won't tell me what it was that you saw."

Yeri shook her head madly, sobbing as she did so.

"I can't, Jungkook," she whispered, "I can't."

Jungkook sighed in frustration, but refused to push Yeri any further. No matter how badly he wanted to figure out what was going on with the Ravenclaw, he knew it was best to seek medical treatment first. Continuing to attempt to pry memories out from Yeri would only worsen her condition, and her mental state was clearly low.

"I'll call Madam Yuri." Taeyong said from the other side of the room, climbing out from under the table he'd been hiding beneath during the chaotic scene. He sounded rather calm for someone who had just witnessed a mental breakdown, and Jungkook could only admire him for that.

Jungkook, on the other hand, felt strange. He was helping Yeri; comforting her, even. Since when had he gone through a change of heart?

Of course, he didn't exactly have the option to just sit there and watch as another student went insane before his eyes. That seemed beyond insensitive, and regardless of how arrogant Jungkook could come off as to other people, he still had a heart.

Within seconds, Madam Yuri came dashing through the door, scooping the shaking Yeri into her arms before leaving; not even leaving Jungkook any time to process her actions. That woman was fast, he thought.

Jungkook let his thoughts drift away once more, and before he knew it, he was thinking back to the earlier incident. What exactly had gone wrong with Yeri? Her orb growing darker and darker, up until the point where it couldn't even be considered black anymore; he'd never seen anything like it. Not to mention, her tears and screams were definitely out of the blue.

Something had to have triggered Yeri's memory while she was generating her dark magic. Jungkook vaguely remembered her mentioning something about "remembering things she didn't want to remember". He figured it had something to do with her past; even then, however, something awful must have happened to provoke the catastrophic portion of Yeri's mind.

"Let's go, Jungkook." Taeyong called out from behind the doorway, abruptly snapping Jungkook out of his thoughts. "Save your late night thoughts for tomorrow, would you?"

Jungkook nodded sullenly, following Taeyong back to the Slytherin common room. He disliked being interrupted from his thoughts, especially while trying to piece together mysteries; however, he wasn't afraid to admit that a good night's sleep was much needed at the moment.

Yeri awoke to a familiar white room; one that she had been in not long ago after she'd fainted dramatically. The white walls were the same shade, and it looked as safe as ever; nothing and changed in the hospital wing.

"Yerim, you're awake." Madam Yuri said softly, approaching Yeri cautiously. "How are you feeling?"

Yeri shook her head, trying to come to her senses.
