Chapter Seventeen - Making Deals

POV Ben
I look at her sat on Zanders lap and hope that everything is going to be alright, I can feel the emotion from all my brothers and know we will do anything to keep her safe. As I watch her I feel my consciousness change and I see something coming, I allow myself to relax into the vision and I see a car coming, two people approaching the house, I can feel their lies coming, they are looking for Cammie, they don't know our parents are here, they know about our council links, I look for their gifts, persuasion and strength, only one gift each. I feel the vision ease and take a deep breath, looking at dad who was watching me.
"Dad, did you see?", he nods, "two people coming, they are looking for Cammie" he tells me and I nod in agreement, the others have fallen silent "I saw more, it was clearer than anything I've seen before, I could see them and read them" I tell him.
"Tell us what you saw" he prompts and I repeat what I saw, "what can we do?" Nona asks once I've finished explain what I saw.

"Let them come" Cammie says softly, "we know they are coming, lets see if we can get anything useful out of them, our gifts are stronger when we are together, lets us it to help find my parents"
"Cammie, we can't risk you" Nona worries but I look at Cammie face and know she wont back down.
"I agree with Cammie, we need to take this opportunity, they don't know mom and dad are here, they don't know how strong we are, we can easily match their gifts and any threat they pose, we can protect her" Seb agrees standing and looking at dad. "Dad?"

POV Adam
I feel Ariana tense next to me but I nod, "I agree this may be a good chance to find out who is behind what's going on, if we close the doors between the here and the library we can listen and be on hand if needed", I turn to Aria "will you join us?"

"Yes, she needs to be safe with you, it needs to be just me and the boys" Cammie speaks up, looking at her Nona.
"Cammie, no I need to stay.." Aria starts but Cammie's firm "No" makes her pause, "promise me that you won't offer yourself in exchange for your parents and I'll stay next door unless needed" Aria offers and Cammie nods "I agree, Nona, please trust us, I have a feeling we need to do this, just us".
"How long do we have?" Xavier asks Ben but its Cammie who answers "20 minutes" making all the boys jump up "what, come on we need to get ready" Zander orders rushing out of the room.

POV Grant and Wayne (Henchmen)
"What are we doing here, you know this is a council residence?" I gripe and glare out the window, noticing the council crests on the gate posts at the house we are approaching, "you sure about this?" I push again and this time Grant awards me a grunt "The girl is here, we have orders to collect her, the team at the airport failed, do you want to tell the boss we didn't do the job?"
I swore under my breath, nobody wanted to let the boss down "At least tell me what the cover story is?"
"Councillors Knight have sent us to pick her up and take her to the council, her parents have been found and are waiting there for her" he explains and I laugh harshly. "You think they'll believe that?" I scoff.
"The Knight family all work for the council, its their duty to do what the council tells them to, Councillors Knight are not at home and the boss has said they are not reachable where they are, the kids can't check in and if they do phone the council, the phones are being redirected, trust me, I can make them believe the story but just in case, you're the muscle and we will just take her."
"What's so important about this girl anyway" I mutter but Grant hears me "I don't care and I don't want to know, the boss wants her delivered, that's the end of it" he growls.
He pulls the car up stopping by the door, we both get out looking up at the old stone house "Fancy" Grant sneers before ringing the bell.

The door is opened by a young man "Can I help you gentlemen?"
Grant steps forward "Mr Knight?   I'm Agent Grant Cary and this is Agent Wayne Robinson, we have been instructed to collect Miss Salvator from here and take her to the council" he offers his hand but the young man ignores it "On who's instruction?" he demands.
"On the instruction of the council, including Councillors Knight" Grant explains smiling.
The young man steps back at the mention of his parents, "we will need to check but come in" we enter the hall and wait for him to shut the door before following him down the hallway and into a room, four other men and the girl are in the room and Grant steps forward towards her "Miss Salvator?" and she nods at him before responding "Can I help you?"
I watch Grant roll his shoulder back before he replies, I know he is using his gift as he repeats we are from the council, here to take her to her parents but I can see its not working, I look at the young men around the room and note they are all watching us carefully, I clear my throat "perhaps you would like to phone the council to confirm our instructions" I offer and the girl replies "what a good idea, Jericho would you?"
Grant tenses as Jericho picks up the phone and calls the council, putting the phone on speaker so we can all hear it, we listen as he identifies himself and why he is calling and asks to speak to his parents once the instruction is confirmed, the operator tells him they are not reachable at present but she would ask them to call him once available.
I see the others smile at each other before Jericho hangs up and the door behind us shuts. "Please, sit down" the girl tells us and even though I don't want to, we sit. I hear Grant growl "what did you do?" he shouts as he struggles with himself, I to try to rise but I can't move.
The young man who showed us into the room steps forward "Do you know who we are?" he asks and we nod "the Knight family, you work for the council" Grant sneers.
"Good, so at least you know the basics, now listen carefully as i'm only going to tell you this once, we will know when you lie, your gifts won't work on us, any of us, if you try to fight or run, we will take you down, and once we have finished with you, we will turn you over to the council, I know the impersonation of an agent is at least a few years in our jail, so its in your best interests to tell us the truth"
"We told you the truth" Grant blusters but I stay silent, watching the group around us, there is something else going on here, they know something we don't.

POV Zander
"Lies" I tell him, stepping next to Xavier and looking down at the two men "what do you want with Miss Salvator?", the men stay silent, glaring at us. I feel Cammie move behind me, her arm linking through mine and Xav's as she to looks down at them "are you working for the council?" she asks quietly and I feel the power behind her words and the two men both say "No" their eyes widening as they cannot stop the truth from being told.
"Where were you going to take me?" she asks them and I see the fight on their faces until they reply "to our boss, we had to deliver you to our boss"
"Where are my parents?" she continues and I finally see the resignation on their faces, they have no choice but to tell the truth. "Boss has them stashed near the council, a warehouse the council owns that no-one uses."
"Where" Ben asks them and I know once he's got the address he will start searching.
"Are they alive?" Cammie asks as they tell us the address and they nod "they were patched up and are together, Boss kept them to get to you"
We all feel Cammie's relief at his words, now we just need to know who the boss is, but before I can ask the quiet one leans forward looking at Cammie with wonder "What are you?"

We look at our mate, knowing we will back whatever she tells them, she glances at us all around her and smiles "I am the Eklectos and these are my mates".
I hear the two men swear and start begging for forgiveness and I look at Cammie amazed at their reaction to her words.
"Mom, dad perhaps you should join us" I call to them and smile at the look of fear that passes over the two mens faces as my parents and Nona appear.
Seb pulls Cammie back and into a chair with him as our parents stand in front of the men, and we watch Dad take control of the questioning.

"Lets make a deal" Dad says glaring at them "you tell us everything and we will take that into consideration when deciding your fate"
We smile at their response "anything, we will tell you everything we know" and we settle down to hear who is behind what's happening.
